He graduated from Grinnell College, obtained a Masters from Sussex University and holds a PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies. He has also taught Economics at The Lahore School of Economics.

Pakistan is well fucked up.
I personally know of someone who had a job as a lecturer at a Lahore university because his father was the principal. His own real education was below matriculation standard.

The economy requires major surgery. It will get worse before it gets better.
It took the UK 10 years to turn the economy round in the late 70s and 80s that was also in the teeth of unpopularity.
There are no short term solutions except to keep borrowing and spending, and we all know where that would take us.
Austerity and prudence is the answer.
If IK sticks to his job he will succeed.
