So we are on the same footing, what do you interpret the 'army' as? It can't be other countries because China doesn't have such support (except from inconsequentials like North Korea and maybe Pakistan), and the US does. So what is your interpretation of this 'army'?

The dragon too flies but not in the same style as the eagle. It does not soar and despises being put on display for fear of becoming a trophy. If it chooses to fly, it is usually concealed in clouds and not for hunting prey but for evasion.

I actually quite like this characterisation.

It has great parallels to Deng Xiaoping's famous quote: "Tao guang yang hui" (韬光养&#26214.

Also Westerners often make the mistake of thinking that Chinese dragons are similar creatures to Western dragons, when in fact they could not be more different. It's quite interesting that they are no longer making this mistake.

I liked the description of a countries' personality using imagery of animals.I thought the part about the Eagle having a clear purpose and the Dragon being shrouded in secrecy was pretty apt.
Is there a similar description for India,Europe or Russia?

The Eagle isn't dead yet for sure. It's still there, holding on, though there's no denying that it is declining. The Dragon on the other hand has been alot more promising of late, and is definitely poised to challenge the Eagle directly soon. With the Bear coming in on the side of the Dragon. Both are just symbols. Obviously the US isn't really a bird and China isn't really a mythical creature.

Picture is misleading. The eagle stands a mere 3 feet tall, but the dragon is a hundred times bigger and can eat the eagle without even chewing. The dragon at its prime and full potential can not be subdued by any external forces.

China is not even 1/50th of its full potential and is already making enemies knees quiver and hands shake. What are they gonna do when China is at 1/10th of it's full potential??

The US is at its prime right now. 1000+ military bases all over the planet (global takeover?) 700 billion in the war budget, that's more than the next 10 countries put together. Influencing and controlling the thoughts and opinions of 90% of the worlds nations through pervasive media propaganda and aggressive cultural infiltration. This is the eagle at its height of power.
