The Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan talked about its activity plans for the future. Among them is creation of a satellite together with Uzbekistan, Podrobno.uz reported referring to the Kazakh media.

Director of the Department of International Military and Technical Cooperation Aslanbek Syrlanov said there are specific proposals on creation of joint Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan satellite. This device will be able to provide services not only to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, but also to other countries in the region.

"Currently, our Uzbek colleagues use foreign satellites. Therefore, it was proposed to jointly build one satellite," said Syrlanov at a press conference dedicated to the Kazakh-Uzbek cooperation.

In addition, within the framework of cooperation of Central Asian countries, it is proposed to build five satellites for remote sensing of the earth. Those devices will be able to photograph objects up to five meters in size.
"In such case each Central Asian state will operate one satellite. But, at the same time, it will be possible to use data from all five devices. Thus, it will be possible to receive new pictures every day. All these proposals are put forward by Kazakhstan", Syrlanov said.

Today, an international conference on development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the new geopolitical conditions has been started in Astana. The conference is organized by the Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Research under the president of Kazakhstan. The event is attended by the leadership of the Institute of Strategic and Regional Studies under the president of Uzbekistan. In addition, the conference is attended by leading experts of the two countries. Within the framework of the event, a Memorandum of cooperation between the two institutes was signed.

Over the past four years, enterprises of Kazakhstan and Germany have signed more than twenty contracts worth over 2 billion euros, said Timur Kulibayev, chairman of the Presidium of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Atameken, Trend reports citing the Kazakh media.

Kulibayev, who is also a co-chairman of the Kazakh-German Business Council for Strategic Cooperation, made the remarks at the 11th meeting of the Council in Berlin. The Kazakh delegation also included the Kazakh Ambassador to Germany Bolat Nusupov and representatives of national companies and the business community.

At the meeting, Kulibayev expressed confidence that all planned projects will be successfully implemented, especially in the light of the tasks to diversify the economy set by the president of Kazakhstan.

"The German business invests more than 90 percent of funds in the non-resource sector. We welcome such a partnership," he said.


Kulibayev also noted the prospects of joint cooperation in the development of the agro-industrial sector.

"Kazakhstan has vast territory, but we need new technologies for deep processing of agricultural products and markets in the Eurasian Economic Union, China and Central Asia. There are opportunities everywhere for the supply of our products, but we need more efficient agricultural production," he said, adding that Germany has such experience.

He also added that within the framework of the Business Council, Kazakhstan and Germany intend to solve all the existing problems of business cooperation.

The main equipment for the project to expand the production capacity of the Tengiz oil and gas field in Kazakhstan is being manufactured in Kazakhstan, South Korea and Italy, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

"After pre-assembly of the equipment into modules, they will be sent to the Tengiz field for final assembly and installation. In the Italian city of Avenza, work continues to manufacture and supply gas turbine generator modules. Also, 12 modules were shipped by sea from South Korea," the field operator, Tengizchevroil informed.

It should be noted that more than 45,000 Kazakhs are engaged in the project to expand the Tengiz field. To date, more than 2,100 Kazakh companies have participated in the preliminary selection, of which more than 400 have received contracts.


Last year, production at the Tengiz field amounted to 28.6 million tons of crude oil, more than 1.3 million tons of liquefied gas, 9.2 billion cubic meters of dry gas and 2.5 million tons of sulfur.

Completion of new projects will increase production by about 12 million tons per year and the total production will reach 39 million tons.
