Wow, this guy should be more intelligent:
What is the story here?Chinese origin settled in West going anti- China rhetoric.
Wow, this guy should be more intelligent:
In 1976, Chang graduated from the Cornell Law School. He then lived in Mainland China and in Hong Kong for close to two decades, where he worked as Partner and Counsel at the US international law firms Baker & McKenzie and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, respectively.
Why does he embarrass himself writing such apocalyptic books? It has the alarmism of the Y2K Doomsdayers, and others who periodically predict the end of the world.
What is the story here?
I refuse to believe he is stupid. He might have suffered some personal trauma that has made him irrational. Like the NFL concussion syndrome that makes retired players spew nonsense. The dude has been switching now to selling China threat, yet no media questions the completely opposite narrative from his China collapse theory.

In September 2001, he published the theory of China's collapse in the New York Times. At that time, China was preparing to negotiate its accession to the WTO. The theory of China threat has a great influence on China's negotiations. China needs someone to write an article to refute China's threat theory. Then came the theory of China's collapse.Wow, this guy should be more intelligent:

Are you saying he is acting as a China agent? He doesn't seem so. He just invents a new theory whenever he has to write a new book. It is like Taylor Swift who discards an existing boyfriend and acquires a new boyfriend whenever she has to make a new romantic album.China needs someone to write an article to refute China's threat theory. Then came the theory of China's collapse.
He is not. If you write an article and send it to the Chinese community in American universities, there will always be people publishing it for the sake of fame and wealth. He'll keep it a secret. Are you saying he is acting as a China agent? He doesn't seem so. He just invents a new theory whenever he has to write a new book. I don't know if he is a Chinese agent, that's not important. Are you saying he is acting as a China agent? He doesn't seem so. He just invents a new theory whenever he has to write a new book. You may be right. When it comes to China, any opinion, brilliant or ridiculous, finds a market. You can portray them as dullards who do not understand market economics and hence are doomed to fail or as geniuses who have conquered market economics by brilliant central planning and hence will crush other disorganized market economies. If you write an article and send it to the Chinese community in American universities, there will always be people publishing it for the sake of fame and wealth. He'll keep it a secret.
Short yet good lecture from Mr. Zeihan.
