The Battles of Tarain

OK Few Points

1.Yes Excesses Are Committed By Winning Armies And Muslims Have Been No Exception But My Issue Is The Hindu Narrative Which Is So Exaggerated and Comically One Sided

2.Muslims Conquered and Ruled A Major Portion Of The Subcontinent For 8 Good Centuries If There Had Been A Policy Of Forced Conversion Than Hinduism Would Have Ceased To Exist By Now.Islam Spread In India B'cOz Of Khwaja Moin ud Din Chishti Ajmeri
Exactly my point capital of all muslim rulers was delhi and today 30% of population is muslim while 70percent is hindu. If forceful conversions had occured whole of delhi would be muslim dominant

It was a strategically important region.

You would think the dozens of Empires that existed there from the Mauryans, to the Delhi Sultanates, Mughals, etc would have built a wall or some fortification, especially the empires that won there to conquer North India

Prithviraj Chauhan did have a fort near the location in modern day Hindustani Punjab.

Why did so many battle happen at Sonipat/Karnal/Tariain/Panipat location?

Suitable empty plain area on the road to delhi from the west.Delhi enjoys central position from where you can rapidly access both the indus and gangetic valleys -the 2 most prosperous areas in the world.Whoever can control the land revenue of these 2 belts as well its trade will inevitably be the most powerful land power in the pre-industrial era subcontinent.

My 2 cents on the battles themselves.

Classic turkic steppe battle.

But Alhamdullilah now truth exposed. Zajak Allah for your nice post .

Loot and Plunder---Loot and Plunder---Loot and Plunder---.

To develop his empire and spread Islam---To develop his empire and spread Islam---To develop his empire and spread Islam

Why are you speaking against your own people anyway? Pakistan was part of the Ghurid Sultanate and many Pakistanis (not just Pashtuns) fought as part of the Sultanate. Lahore flourished under Ghurid rule. The Ghurids were also Muslim, and Islam should come before every other identity we hold.

You resides in u.k, one of the most Pragmatic societies on the planet earth and you came up with this kinda simplistic views about subcontinental political history? He established his empire with Islam coming in Handy - - - - - - -.

Come to my place and I'd arrange your meeting with the chairman of the local union counsel--- iam sure if given a chance the guy could even give ghori a run for his money while remaining as a Saint in the books of history - - - .

It's a basic summary, but it's the truth. Most conquerors in Muslim history fought with furthering Islam and Muslims being one of their main goals, they were inherently multi-ethnic and not based on some type of Pashtun, Persian, Arab or Turkic nationalism.

Why do theses neomuslims always have to bootlick tyrant kings ? What he embedded was a political system in the subcontinent like a king could. However the credit of spreading Islam is only for the Saints and Sufis

Sufis would have revolted at the fact that I and many other Muslims of the region are Salafi/very similar to Salafis, where as a Salafi type of Islam was exactly what rulers like Ghauri aimed to spread.

There's also the fact that our people would have been fighting along with them, if you want to add a tribal element to the mix.

Hmm so all these pathetic justifications were a part of sect based crusade in this thread? Salafis dint even exist back then. Take some history lessons in Grey areas .
