The 25 largest empires in human history by land area

yes but British Empire had 3 large countries, Australia, India and Canada

that alone counts for 70% of the total

No the modern day VIP culture could never have been imagined in Rashidun and Umayad Caliphate. They were more of welfare states based on strict accountability and justice, even the Caliph couldn't escape the accountability.

The policy was to keep your doors open with no guards 24x7 for common people, the reason most of the Caliphs were easily target assassinated.

Abbasid era was the worst, the darkest times of Muslims' history.
I think the Abbasid era was the best. Because during the Abbasid era and even the late Ummayud period, the Islamic world was much better economically and also in terms of science and innovation. Also the Abbasid Caliphate was a stable Caliphate which did not suffer much conflict.
On the other hand the Rashidun era was all about war, bloodshed and murder of Caliphs. There were no economic prosperity or scientific, medical, innovative advancement during the Rashidun era.

That is why I called Abbasid era the worst, what you have written above is result of rewritten history during Abbasid era.

Abbasid just enjoyed the fruits of efforts and struggle of Rashidun and Umayads.

Till Umayad it was Caliphate and from Start of Abbasids it was Kings and emperors (in true sense).

That was the period of power hungry individuals, that is the period when freedom of thought and liberties enjoyed by Muslims were slowly and gradually enslaved, period of intrigues, period of promoting clergy and construction of parallel religion. Most of the Traditions (Sayings of Messenger Muhammad Peace be upon him) were constructed during this period. New traditions were introduced in guise of religion and were called necessary pillars of Islam, sectarianism and division were sowed during this period. Defeated Persians held much of sway and did what was necessary to avenge their defeat. The condition of Muslims today is direct result of that era.

Agreed. This size criterion is limited in terms of how meaningful it actually is because it doesn't take into account the quality of the opposition. Anyone with a few cannons and rifles would grab the whole of Australia and North America just by getting there first. Conversely, scrapping around the regions of the middle east, Europe, China and south Asia were hard work against often formidable opponents.
