The 15 countries with the highest military expenditure in 2011

Out of the top 5, we spend the least as a percentage of GDP.

However, there are also a lot of R&D costs that are not included.

. . . .
Out of the top 6, you don't.

Who talks about top 6? It's top 5, top 10, top 20 etc.

Not top 6 or top 13 or top 8.

Plus, Japan has a "pacifist" constitution anyway, they aren't even allowed to call their defence forces an "army". So obviously their spending as a percentage of GDP will be very low.

7-9 billion dollars.:D

your total budget is around 510 trillion tomans (around $415 billion), of which 400 trillion tomans covers state firms and entities,"

and 127% inc from 9bn comes out to be 1143bn.....under sanctions dnt think to be happening...

ur president said without elaborating that ur defense spending would be increased by 127 percent. for that means higher taxes....
doesnt seems a good idea for general people....

well in 2012 it has happened I am not sure if it will be still that high in 2013, also Iran has lots of money reserved, the president said Iran has enough money for 3 years if we don't see a single drop of oil.

According to the IMF... PPP should NOT be used for international comparisons.

edition.cnn.com/2011/BUSINESS/04/26/us.china.economy/index.html

Especially not for India's defence budget, since even India's "indigenous" systems use imported components from other countries.

And with the Rupee falling as much as it has, only makes it worse, when most of your stuff is bought from overseas.

PPP makes much better sense, after all our 1.2 million armed forces are paid salaries in rupees and not in dollars, Imports constitute only 20% of our defence budget.
