If China was capitalist and is competing with capitalists, how is it possible to catch up? Who owns the factors of production?

In capitalism there's the first mover advantage which is often insurmountable: see Facebook, Google, Exxon Mobil, Applied Materials, Intel, etc. In addition in the absence of laws to the contrary, capitalism trends towards monopoly from Standard Oil to Microsoft. How can China catch up with monopoly capital if it is using the same strategy, just later and less mature?

It is the same as asking, is it possible for a young high school basketball player to beat an old NBA one? Lol even if the NBA player has gray hair I wouldn't bet on it.

The only answer is, the younger player isn't playing basketball. They're competing in a different game.

Then there's the question of who owns the ultimate factors of production. Huawei is owned by the employees, not shareholders. All the big upstream companies - petrochemical, rail, electricity, telecom, finance - all are owned by the state and managed not for profit but for social benefit.

It doesn't matter to me whatever -ism they are practicing, capitalism or socialism, as long as they continue to keep their promise to provide security and better life to Chinese, I am their fan.

Don't you wish any political party could have done the same for the people of your origin?
