Literally tears start rolling down my face every time when i watch these interviews. We today exist on world map because of such national heroes and in return that,s what we gave them? A pension of 19000 rupees and a restriction of meeting their close relatives and house arrest? India made abdul kalam a president and we treated him like a criminal.Seriously our leaders suck

19,000 is bs. I can't believe it. His security is no doubt very high and has reason behind that. Some foreign agencies were trying to kidnap him to interview him about nuclear proliferation .

Watch the video he himself is telling how much he is getting as a pension.

I mean extract information about his role during his foreign visit, example North Korea etc etc. And he was part of nuclear program , not whole sole incharge . There are many unsung hero in Pak nuclear program.
yes i agree the government traded nuclear secrets with north korea for missile tech but used aq khan as a scapegoat.

He played a role in Pakistan's nuclear program but it was very limited in scope. Building a nuclear bomb isn't a one man's job as is incorrectly attributed to his credit in Pakistan. AQ khan and his department worked on Uranium and the PAEC which had already tested a nuclear device in 1983 was working on plutonium. Interestingly, in 1998 it was PAEC which conducted a higher yield weapon test and not AQ Khan's department aka KRL, which intially wasn't even part of the planned tests and AQ had to pull some heavy strings with military circles to get involved.
There are many Pakistani scietists who have contributed a lot more than AQ Khan, but sadly to this day, he is cashing in on myths associated with his name and people are gullible enough to fall for them. If there is anyone who actually derserve's to be called a true hero that would be Dr. Samar Mubarak.

Now one understands why you made the thread.

Carry on
Son you still owe me an apology for not answering my questions in a previous thread :)
You should refrain yourself from making arguments which you cannot win with logic and reasoning.

No one had a special love with aq khan or hate for samar mubarak which forced him/her to distort the facts.
You should know making a nuclear bomb is not possible without the fusion process and making the centrifuges ,and all that credit goes to AQ khan. There is a reason why just few nuclear powers exist on the face of earth because most countries struggle with a fusion process and making of centrifuges etc.Though i agree all scientists involved in this project and the delivery systems etc are our heroes but without this man becoming a nuclear power was just a wet dream.

This man safeguarded our civilization and identity.
I am sorry. He was part of a gargantuan effort spread over decades kicked off by Bhutto senior that involved thousands od scientists and officials working as a team. And as regards "safeguarding" this man for sake of greed placed every Pakistani in harms way - potentially making Pakistani a target for US bombs and missiles.

There is a reason why he is in custody.

This guy was thief, not a hero. Only in Pakistan people who sell state secrets are considered heroes.

Your army leadership, beaurocracy and political elites... all sucks... their children are living in foreign... their business interests are mostly abroad...

This is damn shame, all our ex-COAS who are alive also live abroad. Elite have turned Pakistan in to shithole they themselves don't want to live. If anything overseas Pakistanis come back to live in Pakistan after retirement.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the case with Indian elite, correct me if I'm wrong but majority of them live in India even after retiring.
