Last week the Pakistan Army airlifted to safety 67 British Sikhs on a pilgrimage in Pakistan. They’d been stranded at a service station by the protests. Fantastic response from the Pakistani authorities. All the pilgrims left the country safely. Thank you.

The British High Commissioner also lauded 'fantastic response' from the Pakistani authorities.

He said all the pilgrims left the country safely.

Thomas thanked Pakistan Army and the authorities for quick response and shifting the Sikh pilgrims to safe place.

Where were the UK Sikh TV channels to report this? Akal Channel, Sikh Sangat TV, Sikh Channel? Rather they were too busy deming an entire British Pakistani community for the devil actions of a handful of criminals who happen to be Pakistanis involved in sexual abuse and rape of English girls. A hypocritical Qom! Pakistanis should e very careful about Sikhs. They are not friends, given the opportunity they would attack Pakistanis.

Interesting.....the Sikhs that I have met, most of them, have no particular love for Pakistan...

Yep none of them reported this, an absolute disgrace and yet time and time again Pakistan extends the best facilities to them. I would suggest people email and ask them about this, they may genuinely not heard about it but should have.

Sometimes I think Pakistan actually believes that others actually appreciate them when at best it is just mere patronising tolerance...(not talking about individuals of course).

Most are fine dude (UK), here people get on. I wouldn't expect anyone to have any particular love for Pakistan aside people of Pakistani decent. I've met many Muslims who have shocking views about Pakistan, they literally buy into the whole terrorist, corrupt place wholesale.

I couldn't say it better bro, and this is certainly the case for a great many things and not just this.

I am also speaking about Sikhs in the UK. Of course they get on...I get on with Afghans very well...but that does not mean they like Pakistan...same goes for the Sikhs I meet, although not as much hate.

And these Muslims..you talking about Pakistani Muslims who think it was a mistake for Pakistan to be made???

Nope I'm talking about Arab folk I have come across, Cypriot Turks and some Somalis. Yes I've come across such 'Pakistanis' but they really are a rarity.

Oh yeah I have met Kuwaiti Muslims in the UK and other non Pakistanis who have said that Pakistan should be part of (Republic of) India.

They hold no love...

Pakistanis got to learn this....stand on your own two feet...the world sees you as an illegitimate state carved out from the "legitimate India"......we need to put the facts out....

Sad to see how our state institutions oblige to the ambassadors of US and UK. If this free ride was accorded to localsthan would've been happy. An ambassador gets his passport holders a free ride on taxpayersmoney to a group that has/was/will spit venom on Pakistan and Pakistan Army. They gave the bloody ride as though Pakistan is a warzone. Yes roads were blocked and some committed arson on PEshawar road but it was not the case everywhere. It was much cheaper to escort their bus into the city. Bloody waste of money just to keep an ambassador happy, Ashamed.

Perhaps it is our collective "house negro" mentality... after all we are PROUD that our forebears served in the Noble cause of defence of the Glorious British Empire against her enemies(!)

Have you ever seen a "dweeb" a young man who lacks self confidence trying to please a "fair maiden" that he wishes to woo but she just does not feel the same yet the "dweeb" hopelessly carries on, in his self pity and unrequited love.....

Ridiculous attitude from the pair of you. This is exactly the kind of thing diplomats do around the world. When citizens of a country are in trouble in foreign lands, the embassy staff try to help them. Its not the fault of British citizens that Pakistani embassies around the world serve to make us zaleel.

Picture the scenario:

  1. British Sikhs visit Pakistan and are in trouble because there are violent mobs on the street baying for the blood of a non Muslim woman the courts found innocent.
  2. They ring the British embassy for help.
  3. The British embassy ask for thier location and tell them they will get help.
  4. The British embassy call the Pakistani government officials who they work with and ask for someone to rescue thier citizens.
What do you think the appropriate response should be?

"We can't stand up to the dallah molvis for Asia Bibi or Atif Mian, we're not about to start now!"

Or...

"Don't worry, they're only smashing cars and stealing bananas. Your citizens will be fine."

---

If course the government was going to send someone to help, especially to avoid an international incident.

Fair enough. This incident can be let off. But generally this is the mentality that many Pakistanis have....
