THere are those good old torpedoes, which can be used against surface shipping and against other submarines. Some wireguided, other homing (including wake-homing). In principle, one could fashing a land-attack torpedo with a tactical nuclear warhead to take out navy bases. And yes, submarines can be used to covertly lay mines. As well as delivering special forces. And also do covert intelligence gathering against shipping, shore-based targets, air movements.What a mordern submarine can do without ASM? Laid mine?
