TF-X Turkish Fighter & Trainer Aircraft Projects

Wrong thread, but those F35 will stay in the US for a year and will be used to train Turkish pilots. So technically the transfer to Turkey is still not clear.
They are Turkish property now. While I will not rule out the possibility that the US can still theoretically block their transfer, I will point out that the US confiscating those jets is on par with Turkey confiscating F-22 jets stationed in incirlik. Just saying...

It's possible that there was transfer of title, thus forcing the Congress to make this clarification:

SEC. 6204. CLARIFICATION OF LIMITATION ON THE TRANSFER OF THE F–35 TO TURKEY.
The limitation on the transfer of the F–35 to Turkey in section 1269(c) shall apply to the transfer or delivery of that aircraft to Turkey rather than to the transfer of title for that aircraft to Turkey.


Meaning, it can still be blocked.

Do you have a source to back that up, because every news source that I read so far says something on the lines of "Turkey gets first f-35 jets despite opposition from Congress".

Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI) is Turkey's centre of technology in design, development, modernization, manufacturing, integration and life cycle support of integrated aerospace systems, from fixed and rotary wing air platforms to UAVs and satellites.

CAPABILITIES

Design - Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI) is Turkey's centre of technology in design, development, modernization, manufacturing, integration and life cycle support of integrated aerospace systems, from fixed and rotary wing air platforms to UAVs and satellites. All Design Data is digitally gathered and managed by Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) means and methods which enable all related disciplines to work from a common, up to date database. Product Structure and Maturity Levels are the key concepts in this area.

Airworthiness and certification requirements and manufacturing criteria are concurrently considered during the design activities. In addition, compliance of the product is demonstrated by static, dynamic, aero elastic, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis. Selection and qualification of material is done for the developed product and manufacturing processes and testing parameters are defined. Material and Processes Laboratory is established for the purpose of performing required physical, mechanic and chemical tests. Research and development projects are conducted at national and international platforms in order to stay up to date and also to implement latest technologies to TAI. Validation and verification activities are performed in terms of Flight, Laboratory and Ground Tests.

Composite - TAI, aiming to be a leading composite aerospace product design and build partner, is capable of manufacturing a large scale of composite products with conventional techniques and improving its capabilities with advanced composite application technologies. These technologies, including Automated Fibre Placement machine, Precision Milling Machine, Laser Projection Lay-up systems, Real time X-Ray, and Automated Ultrasonic Scanning Systems, offers high quality and precise products for aerospace industry.

Metallic - TAI produces a large variety of finished metallic products for aerospace industry with the principles of innovation and precision. High speed machining of aluminium and titanium, forming and mechanical milling of complex sheet metal panels, Automated Riveting Machine, Automated Drilling system and Flexible Assembly Tooling Applications are major capabilities together with conventional metal forming, machining and assembly processes.

Surface Treatments and Coatings - Having several surface treatments and coating capabilities, TAI is continuously following the developments in the industry and investing on new processes and automated applications to meet aerospace industry requirements. Heat Treatment, Boric sulfuric acid anodizing, Chromic acid anodizing, Phosphoric acid anodizing, Chemical film coating, Pre-penetrant etch cleaning, Passivation, Chemical milling are basic surface treatment capabilities. Coating capabilities include, but are not limited to, Automatic Spraybotic Paint Line and Robotic Coating Application.

Dassault Systèmes enters Turkey TF-X fighter jet development program

Dassault Systèmes today announced that Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. chose the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to accelerate the development of the TF-X aircraft, the newest and largest aviation development project in Turkey. The decision follows Turkish Aerospace’s comprehensive evaluation of solutions available on the market and the successful completion of a proof of concept. It also reflects Dassault Systèmes’ 30-year legacy that continues to shape the aerospace and defense industry.

Turkish Aerospace will use the Winning Program, Co-Design to Target, Test to Perform, Ready for Rate and Build to Operate industry solution experiences based on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to develop its next generation, multirole aircraft from design through production. More than 2,000 project participants at Turkish Aerospace, its partners and suppliers will collaborate by relying on a single source of data across all digital design, engineering, simulation, manufacturing, business analytics and governance applications.

The size of the TF-X Program presented us with an opportunity. We wanted to select a software solution suitable for this project that also allows us to streamline our business process with Aerospace best practices,” said Temel Kotil, President/CEO, Turkish Aerospace. “Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform and its integrated applications convinced us of the need for taking a next step. Our company will gain extensive capabilities for aviation design, development and production, and be able to demonstrate its determination to accomplish large projects.

Aircraft development, considered one of the most technologically advanced projects in any industry, is growing more complex. As companies integrate sophisticated systems and technologies, they seek new ways to conceptualize, design, manufacture, test, certify and sustain products while collaborating across functions and geographies,” said David Ziegler, Vice President, Aerospace & Defense Industry, Dassault Systèmes. “The 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides them with the digital capabilities to accelerate such programs by up to 50 percent. Turkish Aerospace can therefore improve decision-making, reduce risks, and transform its end-to-end development.

First delivery to TurAF is planned for 2029 and will continue until 2039. Turkey’s need for the TF-X fighter jet would be 100-150 aircraft.

According to TAI, the TF-X fighter jet will be a single seat multi-role aircraft mainly designed for air-to-air role with a consideration for air-to-surface capability as well. It will feature stealth and super cruise capabilities, as well as new generation avionics, such as AESA radar.

Upon engineering analysis, preliminary studies, based on information received from engines manufacturers, the TF-X would have a twin-engine configuration. In this regard, an initial agreement has been signed between TAI and BAE Systems on January 28th, 2017, in the presence of Prime Ministers of Turkey and UK. Two companies are actually bidding for the TF-X engines: GE Aviation with the F414-GE-400 and Eurojet with a improved version of the EJ-200 engine.

what about the mission computer programing will it be 100% indegious? Or is there going to be supported by foregine companies? That would be a big risk to use non Turkish companies for this.
