Buying batteries is not unusual. Most carmakers buy other stuffs as well: tires, electrics, navigation. Almost 40k USD for a electric car is not cheap. Tesla builds a factory here in Germany but Tesla will have tough times to compete with Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, BMW, VW. The Germans still favor German cars. Unpatriotic if buying foreign cars.

Hmmmm....Tesla makes the best electric cars out there and their technology/capabilities keeps evolving faster than any of their competitors. I don't think they would have chosen to build a factory in Germany if they thought they couldn't compete with German brands there.

Tesla made EV high performance and mainstream in the first place. It won't be topped anytime soon.

However, Xpeng and BYD are changing perceptions about Chinese EV offerings (aesthetically pleasing and technologically advanced) - credit where due. But making these cars sell well in multiple countries is an uphill battle and it might be important to open factories in some. Importing all the way from China might not be cheap in some locations and customers can be really after-sales conscious.

Market cap is very large because Tesla is not valued as an automaker but more so as a technology company. Tesla owners get software updates every so often and can even upgrade their vehicles (i.e. buy the FSD pack). Can you name any other automaker that does this? This is not to mention the huge Tesla technology edge over its competitors, which has exploded in recent years.

I think u need to recheck your data. Chinese user in China has already tested and verify Xpeng P7 has better range. I do not know where u get your data?

Faster is subjective. Chinese buyer are looking more comfort than faster. Chinese review also feedback xpeng P7 is more comfort to drive with less bum and less G to give an all-around driving in most terrain. Also Xpeng has superior dyna sound system, much better interior sound proof. Bigger Internal space.

The voice recognition operating system of Xpeng is also much superior and faster response, making it a real smart car.
