Terrorists from Afghanistan attacked a Pakistan Army checkpost in Mohmand Agency late Friday night.

The military’s media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), said, Pakistan military effectively responded to the fire in Baizai Tehsil of Upper Mohmand, rendering it ineffective. Soon after the incident, militants fled back to Afghanistan, ISPR added.

11 killed, 31 injured in Jamrud check post blast

Sources in the area revealed that at least two checkposts came under attack in the Ulai area. “Several militants were killed in the exchange of fire, with one minor injury on the Pakistani side,” the source added.

The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Jamaat-ul-Ahrar on Saturday stated that it lost two men while three others were injured after they launched an overnight attack on a Pakistani checkpost.

Last year, at least eleven people were killed and 31 others injured as a suicide bomber blew himself up near a check post in Karkhano Market, adjacent to Jamrud in Khyber Agency. “Eleven people have been killed and 31 others injured,” officials of Hayatabad Medical Complex told The Express Tribune. Casualties are feared to rise, the officials added. Further, a hospital source said a child and four security officials are among the dead.

. . . .
This will continue until we do Major operation in Afghanistan and wipe the root (Terrorist) and terrorist gardens (Consulates) in which they are trained otherwise this series episodes of terrorism will continue

Very well done.
Looks like Pakistan has learned the lesson and reinforced weak spots on Afghan border.

Good. May both the rats rot in hell.

It's almost 2200 km porous border. It's too much work for Pakistan army. Constant alert due Indian violations on Eastern border on top this western border seems not going to be silent anytime soon.

This is the main reason why USA keeps barking do more do more mantra, USA has utterly failed in Afghanistan and wants to drag Pakistan into this useless conflict.

We have refused to co-ordinate with American efforts in Afghanistan..instead we sat ten years like an ostrich with head buried in sand..wasted billions of tax payer money to run a parallel operation of counter terrorism..with very poor co ordination between all elements of society..lack of control over media and popular culture..mullahs still running wild with state too impotent to arrest and persecute them properly. At the same time our generals sold their failures as massive success, minted money and glorified themselves with medals. The state institutes of security need to be investigated for criminal complicity.

When America invites India to Afghanistan, it is not because they have got a plot against Pakistan but rather due to our own delusional priority. The idea of Afghanistan as strategic depth is very much embedded into our security establishment and without doing away with this idea there is no stable future for Pak and Afghan. Americans may as well begin blaming us for their failures in Afghanistan. Our failures started right from the point we lot control over Taliban leadership and could not use our diplomatic channels to exert pressure on the Taliban leadership. Rather we mobilized to hide our failures and arrange for disappearance of Taliban manpower into our tribal areas from where they would emerge as TTP and various anti-Pakistan terrorists..

Hona to yeh chaie tha kah as soon as this attacked happened, PAF should had been called and air strikes should had happened in Afghanistan but alas.....
By the way do we even have a government who can actually respond or at least call in a meeting to discuss this increasing attacks on our checkpost from Afghan side? Why is the state of Pakistan even tolerating baboon league is beyond me.

When there is a will there is a way..we have always controlled this border and we can control it again..Pak Army is not resource deprived and if there is indeed shortage of man power that can be raised as well.. The global community is willing to help with all the man and material needed and we have received a lot in the name of WOT. Pakistan is not going anywhere with treating Afghanistan as a backyard. It must join efforts with international collation, bring its concerns on the table and take responsibility as well as impose responsibility on international collation and Afghan government. Baring which, we must must enough balls to take direct action in Afghanistan. Wether it is enforcing a DMZ across the durand line or razing Kabul to ground. We have never shown Afghan government a strong will to fight despite having the man and material to do so. Few ALCM landing in Kabul and you will see a whole new attitude from Afghan regime.

These issues has now political solution. Its stick and carrot approach. But, political forces need to come forward once army done its job. Otherwise situation back to square one. Swat operation is big example and other restive zone where once the PA finish the job and waiting for political forces to come forward and take over the ground situation. And they nowhere to found.
