There was an election afterwards, which they lost.

An election after a military coup under the impartiality of the same military that illegally removed them? Really?

I love it how the west preach democracy to the Muslim world, and then applaud the crushing of that democracy when the results go against them.

Jihadists have gone wild.
yes they have Oslo a bomb was defused just few hours back, Sweden truck rammed over people in a shopping mall followed by gun shots. Egypt 2 blasts just minutes apart it has started every where.

Noone is applauding what happened.
You may not have noticed that al-Sisi has oriented Egypt vs Russia as a result
of criticism from the US.
I personally note that it would have been better for Egypt that Morsi had resigned.
It would not be a bad idea if the people would have a way to force a new election
if the government misbehaved.

There was no 'election'. It was pantomime. A cover up by the military to justify military rule and the crushing of the will of the Egyptian people.

The Egyptian people knew it, that is why 10% voted.

Not a big difference in turnout compared to when Morsi was elected.
