1990's looked really bad for india with 1500 dead every year and zero in Pakistan . Since 2008 , Things reversed and Pakistan became more dangerous . With TTP being dismantled and deaths by terrorism at a record low it seems trend will change again with Pakistan becoming safer than India again .

2016

India = 110 Civilian deaths
Pakistan = 312

They love to point out our bad patch 2009-2014 and forget their 90-2008 bad years in terrorism .

Next year Pakistan civilians deaths should be below 300. Amazing job considering not long ago 300 civilians used to be killed per month.

Insurgency attack will rise In Pakistan again from 2017 onwards.

@Khan_21

As you see that Maoist violence in 2015 and 2016 is lowest since 1998.

Kashmiri terrorism have been decimated with less than 50-60 security casualties every year since 2010.

North East is also much more peaceful than before

The period 1990 - 2000 also included the khalistan insurgency and Kashmir Jihad at its peak, both crushed under Military/ security forces boots.

Naxals are biggest internal security concern now.

Also, to my delusional friends who pray and forsee the rise of terrorism in India - this is not 90s and we are not ruled by Congipussies or Apptards but more like RW, whom some people even branded as Fascist.

According to Col RSN Singh Ex Raw - " the answer to proxy war is proxy war not conventional "

True but Maoists have weakened a lot.
2015 saw the lowest casualties since 1998.

Not really, it will decrease further because western border will be sealed and movement of people controlled.
Lots of sleeper cells already in and a mountainous border like Afghan Pakistan is impossible to fully seal and will always be porous.
TTP will take some months to reorganize after shifting base to Afghanistan.

Some attacks are inevitable but I doubt Pakitstan will ever go back to 2008-2014 era.
