What cruelty you found in jallikattu? Have you ever heard that a bull died because of jallikattu? You have no idea, how a bull is raised for jallikattu... These bulls come only on the day of jallikattu to the ground, just for 2 mins.

We respect the Supreme Court Decision. Before few years, Jallikattu was happening in so many villages of Tamil Nadu. There was some amount of idiotic tortures involved. Then some animal organisations got involved, and got the basic frameworks for the treatment of Bulls, and the criteria for the holding of Jallikattu in 2011.

Since then, the number of Jallikattu events conducted accross TN have ramped down. Its fine as long as the SC rulings have to be followed.

Now the rules are followed strictly, with vets from animal orgs inspecting Bulls before they take the field. Same for the mens too. And protection for spectators have been given paramount and approved by Fire Safety dept.

Inspite of all this, they still asking for the ban on account of Torture They should put a case against non veg foods and face a backlash. Fcuking Hypocrites.

We need a Constitutional law, with rules and guidelines, protecting the ancient sport from the whims of Groups and Courts.

If they again moved like that then there should be some insider supports to this organizations.I agree with you this for a certain extent.

It shouldn't have been banned, and animal cruelty is a poor excuse against it. If I am not wrong, ordinary bulls aren't used for Jallikettu, specially bred ones are used. They are capable of handling such stress, just like elephants are used for moving heavy logs of wood in wood mills, or dogs are used for detecting explosives,or broiler chicken being bred just for the poultry business.

What should be done is that, independent watchdogs should be set up for monitoring the game, with the cooperation of pro-animal organizations like PETA and the State Animal welfare board or whatever.

There might be. There are speculations. But foreign money hand is seen. You see some foreign funded NGO's are also seeking a ban on Holi and Diwali. During Diwali online adds and nowadays calls have increased to stop bursting crackers and save india from pollution. It seems a systematic approach against Indian tradition.

However its my speculation. More Ironic thing is, why dont Indian NGO's collect fund and sponsor animal rights group in Spain. ?? They never do that. They cry a lot in India to get funds from abroad.

its high time - Pakistan open a consulate in Chennai to promote cultural / religious exchanges and re-establish the lost historic connection.
