Real-time video, audio, and two-way communication technologies are used by SWAT teams to interact with officers via robot dogs. These quadruped robots have microphones and several cameras, which can capture 360-degree views, which allow them to provide real-time sights and noises to the operators, by controlling the robot remotely using a touchscreen tablet or other such device, the SWAT team can look inside hazardous areas without endangering officers.

Crucially, a lot of robot dogs come equipped with two-way communication systems that allow cops to talk to suspects or others inside a building using the robot's speakers and listen to their answers using its microphones, to help defuse stressful situations, the Miami-Dade Police Department's robot "Spot" has a two-way communication system that allows it to converse with suspects who are barricaded, comparably during standoffs, the LAPD's "Spot" robot has been utilized to speak with suspects, reassuring them that the robot poses no threat and promoting a calm surrender.

In order to keep a steady connection with operators even in intricate metropolitan settings, the robots also have strong wireless communication, frequently via Wi-Fi or customized radio links, to improve tactical control during raids, some models, such as the DHS "NEO" have antenna arrays and onboard computers that may jam or deactivate opposing wireless devices.

In conclusion, SWAT teams can interact with robot dogs by using two-way speaker and microphone systems that enable direct verbal conversation with suspects, as well as live video and audio feeds that are wirelessly sent to distant operators, with the use of this technology, police enforcement can securely negotiate during high-risk situations and obtain vital intelligence without putting officers in danger.
