haha. Strategic decisions? You say pakistan has been taking strategic decisions but not those that are to please its masters? History tells otherwise
What role can Turkey play? They are soon becoming terrorist infested just like pakistan. I tell you with their dwindling economy and rise in terrorism, and no political stability, they would be insignificant in no time. Those wannabe Europeans are muslims after all. No matter how modern they become, their mindset will pull them back to square one. Well they can remain significant by becoming a headache of the world just like pakistan has managed to be.
Ahhh you Indians NVM. Let me post few points briefly.
Let us start from historical ties and role of Turkey
1.Pakistan and Turkey signed pacts in 1951 and 1954 ; the first one gave Pakistan a chance to start ties with US and hence have military assistance and cooperation while the 1954 pact helped Pakistan move towards a much stronger path which would be defined in the following lines.
2. The then Turkish PM Adnan Menderes mediated between Pakistan and Afghanistan when we were facing Afghan state terrorism.
3. In the 1960s Pakistan-US relations started to go on a rocky and shaky path while Turkey and NATO were faced with same over Cyprus, this was the time period when Pak-Turk pact led us to join hands with Iran and formed RCD towards a more independent security and political alliance.
4. In 1970s when Pakistan was facing Indian State Terrorism, it was Turkey that has lend us diplomatic as well as military support. Turkey did not recognized Bangladesh until Pakistan recognized it.
In the recent years say for example from 2000 on wards, Turkey played role in Pak-Afghan efforts for peace in the region.
There is cooperation in other areas for example
"On October 24, 2009, Ankara and Islamabad agreed that Turkish Aerospace Industries would undertake the modernization of F-16 fighter jets belonging to Pakistan. In addition, Turkey agreed to help Pakistan improve relations with Central Asian nations. During Gül’s visit to Islamabad in April 2010, it was agreed that Turkey would monitor the region more closely during its term presidency (2010-2012) of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).Ankara also tried to facilitate the normalization of Islamabad’s relations with NATO, which had deteriorated due to drone attacks."
"In the seventh trilateral summit held on December 11-12, 2012 in Ankara, initiatives to enhance political, economic, and cultural affinity among the three countries were put in place, in addition to assurances of cooperation in the fight against terrorism. The countries also decided to extend the existing railway network in Turkey and Pakistan to Afghanistan and to develop links between their respective industries, such as telecommunications and energy".
These are few. I have not yet touched the role Turkey can play in reviving economy of Pakistan.
Hopefully you can avoid the trolling after this at least in this thread.
