I can agree with this argument of nair saab, if we go back one year, media was not showing much of the campaign, the campaign came only in limelight when Anna got arrested by the delhi police, i mean even a dumb person knows that if Anna gets arrested, he will only get more stronger, so why will the congress people do that mistake??? After the arrest, all the media were showing just the movement for many days 24*7 & people got in support all over India, so was the arrest & it's after effects unknown to the grand old party of india??


what the OP is trying to tell can be better understood by the analogy of Maharashtra Lok Sabha poll of 2009, where there was always a two way contest of congress-NCP combined to that of SS-BJP combined, MNS came is as a third force & really been a spoilsport for the BJP-SS as both MNS & SS have same vote share & if MNS was not there all votes would have gone to SS as seen below :

& MNS din't win even a single seat
