He inspires as much love & affection in Pakistan as an Arundhati Roy , a Kanhaiya Kumar or a Nivedita Menon inspire among middle class Indians .

I've yet to see or hear him deride Islam or say he's willing to convert to hinduism.Care to back up your statement with adequate references & testimonials .

He's certainly against Wahabbism / salafi ism in Islam .Add to it his firm view of a separation of the church & the state which in this case would be a separation of the ulema brand of religion inspired politics from politics a la western secular democracies .That seems a fair call given the hijacking of politics in Pakistan by the clergy & religious parties .

Quite frankly , his views are shared by most of the world except for Pakistan .That's how far your stock has fallen .It may not be the truth .It may be perception .But that's what goes for truth these days.At least in matters connecting Pakistan & terrorism .
