TAPI Pipeline: Despite Security Issues, Bangladesh Expresses Interest

That will be incredibly difficult to do.

In case of pipelines crossing through pakistan, it will have deniability that "non-state" actors had sabotaged the pipeline.
But sabotaging an under sea pipeline for "non-state" actors will be impossible. And if pakistani navy tries to do so in international water, that will be seen as an act of aggression against both Iran and India as pipeline of such import will be strategic in nature.
Sucg act of aggression will be given due reply by Indian Navy. And I dont think I have to explain what Indian Navy can do in Arabian Sea if it gets the green signal from Indian Govt. Will pakistan be able to afford such cost prohibitive game...? Only GHQ,Rawalpindi can answer that...

*facepalm......

I disagree with you regarding the Libya stuff. Libya operation was A-Z western operation. Rebels were very less in number and they did not have the power to overthrow Gaddafi. Not only that Gaddafi had around 70% support of the whole population. Lastly the person who killed Gaddafi was a french spy and he did that with the instruction of Sarkozy as Gaddafi was threatening to him that he would reveal the secret deals through which Sarkozy took money from Gaddafi during the election. For your info under Gaddafi Libya became mos developed country in Africa, literacy rates improved and living standard imroved dramatically. It is true he had many fault but still that was better then many other dictators of middle east and for controlling Libya where there are many different tribes and clash with each other is a common phenomena.
You have the right to believe whatever you like, but reality is different. I do not like to argue with you about Gaddafi and Libiya because muslims, without their own sources of news, starts spreading rumours that only satisfy their own ego. I have seen the video of Gaddafi just when he was killed while being taken away by the angry mob. Now, you have seen a Frenchman there. How can I put a counter argument?

How about the shooting of that teenage school girl in pakistan? No one has yet discovered any french connection, though. But, the jamaatis here in a mosque near Tokyo came with handbills that contained the fabricated copies of a photograph explaining that good hearted talibans did not shot her, a certain FBI agent (in the photograph) has shot that ill-fated girl on the head. This is how muslims hide their faults and blame others.

Same is with the arrest of that 22 yr muslim BD youth who wanted to destroy USA. BDians are in a denying mood. In reality, I myself have many good sources of true information.

What I said regarding Gaddafi was published in Italian and British news paper. That was not from muslim source. Here is one of the link.

Question for Indians:
1. Which one do you prefer: TAPI or IPI?
2. What is the concern in IPI? USA pressure or Pak in between that can block it when it wants to?
3. Can you continue exporting it to Thailand and Malaysia and etc too?

1. I think both the projects are important since India being the second fastest growing country & 4th largest user of energy resources needs energy at all costs, TAPI or IPI it doesn't makes much difference until we get what we desperately want i.e. ENERGY.

2. It's a bit of both, US opened the door for us in world nuclear trade & is a very important partner in Indian desire to be seen with the BIG BOYS of the world, but i guess with IPI the other concern was security, as the shortest path was also the most dangerous path for security of the pipeline, also there was a concern that Pakistan can use the pipeline as a bargaining chip vis-a-vis India but with US itself becoming a guarantor in the TAPI project, this concern has been largely answered.

3. U mean extending the pipeline in ASEAN??? monetarily not feasible, since with each Km added to the pipeline the cost of gas increases - land costs, transit cost, etc. so it's better to send it by sea route if distance is larger.

On topic - I think it will be a good decision to involve BD in the project since than Pakistan cannot block the supply at will since than it will not be only India that will get effected but BD too, so BD will help guarantee the continued supply of the TAPI project.

For example if Iran wants to mess up with Qatar or KSA. All they need is a frogman. No one can prove anything!

India is currently second largest importer of oil from Iran and Arab countries are trying to lure India to substitute Iran's oil. You know what I mean.

And why dont you see the same problem viz a viz TAPI
Because in the case of TAPI there are multiple parties involved while in case of IPI, Iran doesn't want to come between India & Pakistan.

Hope you will get my point.

The security issue still remains the same.

:) when will we turn into hawks from pawns in such cases?

Noone knows it...India is so diverse that it is very easy to manipulate public opinion through paid political party and so also our media....So this is a distant dream....we are just learning to survive ourselves..So being independent is too much to ask for country with 120 crore people and with hundreds of people with different religion/sect/language and own identities.....

Hope for the best..
