There are two artilces posted above -- but let me see if I understand you correctly, if we so much say that the ideology of the Talib is heavily influenced by deobandi which is in turn heavily influenced by Wahabi/Salafi we would be stoking sectarian fires?? If yes, consider it you answer, you may get what you want.

Where were these Talibs before 2006? Why since than they are doing things which have no logic other than creating kiosk.
How come the got armed with American and indian wepons? and finances should have explanation too?
Have you considered the time line and timing of things? and their aftermaths?

I have listed facts and what you and your Mr. Holbrook is saying is a conspiracy theory which holds no logic or proof.
Don't you think in this case US should cut off TTP's finacial channel because it is so obvious to them?

“Those who destroyed schools in Malakand are not saviours, they are enemies of Islam,” he told a national workshop to mark International Literacy Day. “Let’s rebuild Swat (schools), let’s rebuild Pakistan,” he added. He said his government was working to eliminate poverty and unemployment to combat extremism. He also urged the international community to come forward and join the efforts to rebuild Malakand.

Top priority: The premier said education was the government’s top priority and it had doubled its budget from 2.4 to four percent of the gross domestic product to increase the country’s literacy rate. He said the government had declared 2010 “Literacy Year”. He blamed the rise of extremism, violence, religious bigotry and falling moral standards as society’s failure to recognise women as effective tools for social harmony and national reconstruction.

Under consideration: Gilani said the constitutional committee headed by Senator Raza Rabbani was considering renaming NWFP to Pukhtoonkhwa, adding the issue would be resolved with the consent of all stakeholders. Replying to a question on the presence of the Blackwater organisation in Pakistan, the premier said: “This is disinformation, no such organisation is working in the country.”

Same day: The prime minister also said he was in favour of the entire country celebrating Eid on the same day. He said it was regrettable the country could not achieve consensus on celebrating Eid simultaneously, the APP news agency reported.

Taliban has been repulsed back contrary to the opinion of their patrons.
This is why their cheif Mehsud has been removed from the scene by one of the patron.
TTP army and their nexus has been exposed by Pakistan army.
TTP is a lost horse, where was this spirit when it was needed more.
TTP cannot be defeated by words of Batman or Muse it needs a motivated, well trained, well armed, well educated, well paid, patriotic army.
We should not be ungreatful at the same time by maligning the same army in media, cutting their defence budgets, diverting defence funds for corupt civilian works, restring the mobility of army in conflict zones by not allowing them to develop canttonments, and barrin gmedia to print any apprecitive stories about the braveries of odd war.
Most of above we should not forget that US is against Pakistan army using drones technology or airforce to fight this menace... why ??????????

They managed to topple Musharraf's govt. media assisted them, Lawyers assisted them.
An FIR has been registered against ex-army cheif for killing armed Talibans.
