Taliban in Pakistan blame U.S. Blackwater for deadly blast 09:31, October 30, 2009

Chief of Taliban movement in Pakistan Hakimullah Mehsud has blamed the controversial American private firm Blackwater for the bomb blast in Peshawar which killed 108 people, local news agency NNI reported Thursday.

The bomb exploded at a crowded market at Chowk Yadgar on Wednesday, also injured 150 people.

Hakimullah Mehsud told media that if Taliban can carry out attacks in Islamabad and target Pakistan army's headquarters, then why they should target general public.

He claimed that American security agency Blackwater and Pakistani agencies are involved in attacks in public places to blame the militants.

When asked that the people also think that the militants are involved in such attacks, the Taliban leader was quoted as saying, "Our war is against the government and the security forces and not against the people. We are not involved in blasts."

Azam Tariq, the Taliban spokesman, who was accompanying Hakimullah, warned that those media organizations could be targeted which are defaming Taliban.

Information Minister in Northwest Frontier Province Mian Iftikhar Hussain and the Pakistani army spokesman Major General Athar Abbas had blamed militants for the Peshawar blast, saying that the militants are facing defeat in South Waziristan tribal region and are now targeting the people.

Its a blast whose target was missed ... a mission that went all wrong ... and those Talibans are trying to wash their hands-off this blast sensing the bad publicity that they will have to face ...

May these terrorists rot in hell.

Peace to the victims ... condolences.

You know, three years back when Iraq was blowing up here there and everywhere there were folks blathering about that Americans were behind it all and the insurgents were defending Iraqis. But if that's true, now that Iraq's insurgents have been mostly defeated while a hundred thousand American troops remain, why aren't we seeing bombs go off every minute?

I think your real challenge is to apply logic to the situation: without proof (or at least useful suggestions how to obtain proof) such rants shouldn't be given any credibility, the testimony of people under terrorist domination should be taken with many grains of salt, and the subject should quickly return to how best to destroy the terrorists at hand.

. .
In these times, truth is indeed hard to distinguish from falsehood; too often, falsehood is accepted more readily than the truth.

.
The CIA carried out activities like these in Cuba and blamed it on the Cuban freedom fighters. They will go to any length to achieve their interest.

. . . .
Well according to analysts, the same sort of attack had been carried out in Iraq a week ago and the Peshawar one is not a different case, keeping in mind that Blackwater is also present in Iraq.

We can see from this thread itself how confused and gullible Pakistani public is. I reckon one of the reasons the government of Pakistan is accusing India of funding the Taliban is because otherwise our dumb public will keep believing that this is America's war.

.
it was the taliban. they saw the reaction that it caused among the pakistani public and are now back tracking. they saw that they cannot break the will of the pakistani government and people.
We will find them and kill them all. My brothers the talibs are the ones that are making falsehoods.
