Take in Rohingya yourselves: FM lashes out at countries asking Bangladesh to rescue Myanmar refugees

This FM seems really unpolished.

I like his hair, can we keep him ? They're all equally useless anyway but this poodle has a knack for saying ridiculous things.

He is the brother of the previous finance minister Abdul Maal Abdul Muhit, who was well known for using English cuss words on live TV like 'Bastards' and then we wonder why all our movies have 10 iterations of that word.

why cant pakistan create a law like India's CAA that any muslim being driven out with religios reasons will be given shelter in pakistan?
There are only 30 million Hindus worldwide living as a minority community(Outside India and Nepal) compared to around 400 million Muslims as a minority community worldwide. Given that, India is already a vast country of over 1.3 billion people, Indians would not even notice if Indian govt. decide to shelter each and every minority Hindu in the world. World's 94 percent Hindus already lives in India, another 3 percent in Nepal. So 97 percent global Hindus are living in this 2 countries where they are absolute majority and exercise all the power. I find it very amusing that Hindutva brigade is always drumming the chorus of ''persecuted Hindus'' to fan hatred in India when Hindus are the most protected major religious community in the world.

Now do you think, Pakistan or even a combination of Muslim countries have any capability to act as sanctuary for potential 400 million minority Muslims worldwide who may face difficulty? Obviously no. So what India can do for a global Hindu community can not be done by any Muslim country in world because minority Muslims are such a vast and widespread community around the world.

Pakistan is already dealing with many Afgan Refugees and that did not turn out great from what i understand, but you'll have to ask Pakistani members about that. Bangladesh also does not want the Rohingya but our hand has been forced and now is not the time for escalation

still being a future leader of ummah pakistan need to do more. they are doing nothing and posting on pdf is what they do all the time,

India on the other hand actually created a law called CAA to help those who are forced with religious freedom.

pakistan come on show some more strength and courage, take some more refugees ... specially roingyas.

if you throw so many numbers you will lose it early.

look, all im saying is pakistan is not in the league of turkey or saudi's. because they are not doing enough. when they raise their standard to the others they will be recognized and will eventually become leader nation.

nothing to do with Hindutva and all... so not going there sir.

Its the basic problem and ongoing conundrum when you found a country on a religion (of significant presence outside your national borders) rather than common sense geographic+historic "blood and soil" (within your national borders) as @OsmanAli98 has said a few times.

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen lashed out at the countries that are pressuring an already overburdened Bangladesh to accept more Rohingya refugees .

Speaking about a recent meeting with ambassadors of the European Union countries on Friday, the minister said if the European and American governments were so worried about the well-being of these refugees, they were welcome to accept them into their countries.

“I told them the average annual wage of our people is USD2,000, whereas for you it is USD56,000. And in our country 1,200 people live in every square kilometre, while in yours it is 15 . Why don’t you relocate these refugees to your countries?

Bangladesh shelters nearly 1.1 million Rohingya in camps at Cox’s Bazar since mass exodus in August 2017 in the face of threat from Myanmar army. Sheikh Hasina’s government reached an agreement with Myanmar government towards the end of 2017 for their repatriation.

Desperate Rohingya people attempting to travel to East Asian countries on sea routes often draw headlines in the international media. The portrayal of their sufferings in the global media encouraged international human-rights organisations to pressure Bangladesh into allowing them in.

Dhaka has been critical of growing calls by countries that Bangladesh shelter more Rohingya rather than piling the pressure on Myanmar to repatriate its the Muslim outcasts. Bangladesh has called on other countries to rescue the Rohingya in boats who are strarnded at sea.

“The problems occur in the Andaman Sea and the Indian Ocean. And whenever any tricky situation emerges, everyone looks to Bangladesh, as if the rest should be in Bangladesh because we have sheltered 1.1 million of them. No matter where in the world there is an issue with the Rohingya people, we have to solve it,” Foreign Minister Momen complained.

“We said we cannot do it, we have no more space left. And the others also have a responsibility (towards the Rohingya). It is not our problem alone, it's a global issue.”

This month, 277 Rohingya people were rescued from the sea and the government sent them to Bhashan Char.

Are you troll-baiting? Some of your comments are pretty provocative, with CAA and such. It could derail and hijack the thread...not going to pester the mods on Eid but try not to rankle people just to watch the 'Tamasha'...

Bangali gets mad, they start using English cuss-words to express strong sentiments.

Idiot, Ishtupid, Bast@rd, SonofaBiatch, these are choice cuss-words used by supposedly educated Bangalis (usually older folks like Pagla Muhith)....often spoken to folks lower in the socio economic order...

Yeah I know, real classy and polished...

Bangladeshi army should initiate a massive invasion of Rakhine state to facilitate the Rohingyas. The world community will not force Myanmar to take back the Rohingyas and neither Myanmar will take them back voluntarily. The ultimate loser will be Bangladesh. So military option is absolutely necessary.
Stupid idea, nothing more than gunboat diplomacy should be done... pressure them with embargo

We should make our case in a civilised manner. After all, we are a developing country with strained resources and refugee issue must be a shared responsibility.

Same message. Different tone.

All I am saying is that this is a sensitive issue and it requires a pair of velvet gloves. We did not turn Rohingyas into refugees. We didn't burn their homes and commit a genocide on them. Myanmar army did under the watch of Nobel prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi and international community. Why then must we make harsh statements and make ourselves look cruel? This too around Eid. There is no tact here
When you yourself aren’t able to come up with what to say exactly I guess better leave the decision up to the speaker. From all I see, I would think nothing more of this dude except that he’s a sack less individual. His words don’t hold meaning

Kindly tell this to the likes of @AfrazulMandal, @xeuss and @Shantanu_Left. If we tell them they don't believe us. They think we are misleading them.
