Did it really need to be build?
Wasn't a royal wastage of money,
time, and effort?
While people were inventing and
discovering things in the west, we
South Asians still had this attitude
in Middle Ages:
"Malka Aaalia, hum aap ki khidmat
mein gulaab ka phool paish karte
hain"
In English: "My queen, we are
offering fresh roses to you in your
honor"
Some thing to thank about!!!!
I read a comparison of the way
emperor wasted his money by
building a monument in the name
of love and between some big rich
guy in Europe!!!
The Mughal Emperor and that big
rich guy in Europe lived in the
same era. However, when that
European guy's wife died due to
some illness, he founded trust and
research study with his own money
to discover the cure for that
illness. Years later, his research
and work turned in to a big famous
university of today.
You see the difference in thinking?
and why go that far? When Imran
Khan's mother died due to cancer,
he built a hospital where poor
people could be treated for free.
Now, it has become one of the best
hospitals in Pakistan that are run
privately.
You see that?
Now that's love. Not Taja Mhala
from which no one could possibly
benefit!!!

may be it was a waste of money in the past but today it is one of the major sources of tourism in India...at least the money was spent on something that can be touched and seen today unlike others who just robbed and took away wealth from India....So don't be sad, Taj Mahal is the finest thing that has happened in India, so be pround of it...

Obvoiusly the Mughals were shameless parasites who impoverished India. And they had this fetish for the dead. Tombs everywhere in India. They have turned Delhi into a graveyard. The only lasting contribution of the Mughal rule is the land revenue system---and that was invented by a Hindu Kayastha -- Raja Todar Mal. Had it been a continuation of Hindu rule, we would be today on some other advanced plane.

The Taj is abrand India is known by world over. The Red Fort, Juma Masjid, Qutub Minar, Sikandra and many more edifices have been built by the Muslims in Hindustan. These made Hindustan magnificent and placed it on a decent position in the map of civilization. It is unfortunate that Indians should ridicule these just because they were not built by Hindus.

yes but new Delhi is good place because of Hindus. and they used our (most of Hindus ) money for tajmahal.

 yeh you still would have been under raja mahrajas

So what do you want to do with it now?? Obviously Taj Mahal was a big expenditure done by a mughal of that time and if looking at the result of building such a fine and costly monument ended up in Bankruptcy of the mughal empire while the king was imprisoned by his own son for his high spending on luxury. That was a long time ago and the Taj is still beautiful and attractive to many people the only thing we could do now is keeping it safe and maintaining it as a tourist destination because in today's world having Taj is more profitable to us than not having it.
