Taiwan's navy will ask parliament to fund the purchase of up to eight new submarines within the next two months, reviving an acquisition that has been in limbo for over a decade, local media said Monday.

India is only producing Scorpenes under License for the Indian Navy , and after the 6-9 Subs the line will move on to P-75I Subs , 6 of which are required for Indian Navy
So unless Taiwan can wait till 2027 , I dont think India will help
By the way , Turkey which is building Type 214 under license could help

Seriously, Taiwan would never buy anything Indian and I say this as a Taiwanese. Taiwan will develop its own like the FCK1 (which is still way better than anything from HAL).

ROC was first to claim SCS sovereignty, later PRC adopted that very exact claim. They still control the largest island on SCS. The subs they buy are more likely to be used to attack Vietnam navy than to fight a futile war against PRC.

In fact, all arms purchases by small nations are useless to counter much larger nation. You either get crushed or you don't depending on what the larger nation feels like. no amount of military Canada can come up with is going to fight off an American invasion.

Wrong! they need to protect the Taiwan island, Penghu Islands, Kinmen island first, then to protect the Pratas Islands. Ba Binh Island in Vietnam's Truong Sa Islands (Spratly), which they are illegally occupied, they will soon return to us.

No, ROC will not return anything to you, stop day dreaming. Nothing they buy will "protect" against PRC, those subs are only useful against a poor country like yours. ROC look down on veitnamanese even more than mainlanders and even their pathetic navy is much stronger than Veitnam navy.

If you learned your history, China was the smaller country during Mongolian days, south China even helped Mongolian at one point to destroy north China, Mongolians would never been able to conquer China without inside support. And Japan never managed to grab more than 1/3 of China's territory, and they could not have done it without US oil and arms import, China was also not united during Japanese invasion.

Even Canada once burned white house during 1812 war, doesn't mean the Canada today is capable of repeating that success.

Canada is much larger than the US, but unfortunately, due to the cold, it hasn't been fully developed.

I was always thinking, what would the world like if the British Empire survived WW2, even in a reduced form consisting of Britain, Canada, Nigeria and Hong Kong?
