Well for PDF keyboard warriors, nothing is impossible, and in fact, one of them seems to be the commander of the PLA's Second Artillery Corps. :o:

ha ha ha korek ka djan, pareng @Zero_wing !

Yes they will. People of Taiwan will stage protest and they will do something to prove to the public if no clear explanantion from philippines.

Why should they protest? Its not like citizen Huang et al -- were maltreated by the authorities in the Philippines. They have been alloted their legal rights, have had access to legal counsel from the Taiwanese consulate. If the law finds that Huang et al were in violation of the fisheries agreement between The Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of China (Taiwan), then they will be subject to the consequences. The same would hold account for any Filipino fishermen caught illegally entering, fishing in the waters of Taiwan.

In the end, respect the Law of the Land !

I just find it ironic, hypocritical how some Chinese members cite the importance of respecting Chinese law, but whenever one of their own citizens is caught in violation of another sovereign nation's laws, they are able to overlook it. That is not only unethical but also morally bereft.

The Law is the Law.

Correct. While I know a majority of Chinese people are not like this, the very few ultra-nationals give a bad name for the rest of the Chinese people. The point I want to stress is that -- when nations sign an articulation agreement, or maritime pact, confidence and respect is to b placed in upholding that agreement. The moment nations start ignoring their agreements, pacts, is the moment the credibility of said nation goes down the tubes.

If Taiwan signed an agreement with Philippines regarding fisheries accord, then so be it. Respect it. Special treatment for Taiwanese just because of the simple fact that they're Taiwanese is a conflict of an objective based equal status agreement that was espoused in the Philippine-Taiwanese Fisheries Agreement.

If the man (Huang et al) was found deep in Philippine maritime territory (and recognized by the Taiwanese side vis-a-vis Fisheries accord) then the defendent will face Filipino Court of Law where Justice will be dispensed. The same would hold true if say a Filipino fishing boat was caught in Taiwanese fishing waters.

Just common legal logic.

Because for them, China's law is divine while other countries' laws are trash.

Preposterous.

China really wants to return to its old status quo - where she dominates the East and Southeast Asian regions, and that would mean re-creating the tributary system though it would be called something else - AIIB is likely one of them.

And I am not sure if China is challenging the "Westphalian sovereignty" idea as she sees herself as a civilization-state rather than a mere "nation-state".

Pretty sure Taiwan doesn't arrest and impound any fishermen that stray through territorial waters, stealing their boats and their catch and levying ridiculous fines. The Philippines a corrupt, impoverished hellhole that is used to ransoms and high-seas murder. A robust response is long overdue. Taiwan sailing its warships south after the murder incident was the right thing to do.

You can say Taiwan won't do anything over and over, until Taiwan does do something. Most likely, that will be coordinating with the Mainland. I'm sure no one will mind, Taiwan is so small and weak, right? What difference would it make if the ROCN joins forces with the PLAN to deal with mutual threats?

You realize you were the prime beneficiaries of the tribute system right? China lost a lot of money paying off greedy neighbors to behave themselves.
