Tablighi Jamaat leader killed for “blasphemy” in Chiniot

.
Alas the bigotry in Pakistan is not limited to the illiterates but the poison of sectarianism exists also among the learned.

I may disagree with the Blasphemy laws, but I would go along because it is the law of the land. However, extra judicial murder is not. All those accused of ‘Blasphemy’, should be tried in a court of law. If & when it is proven beyond doubt that the accused is indeed guilty; he /she should be duly executed.

When a former Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court volunteers to defend the assassin Mumtaz Qadri; he is sending a message to the masses that ordinary citizen is free to kill another without any trial in a Court of law; if in his / her opinion the other is guilty of blasphemy. Therefore, theoretically, I have the license of killing a person if I don’t like his face and subsequently claim that he/she had uttered some words that implied blasphemy.

“As you sow so shall you reap” is a universal truth. We have seen this in action in the Chiniot Mosque.

Some sections of our society are now truly “SICK”.

The answer to that is in Taqwiyatul Iman, the very first chapter, it is stated, vast majority of Muslims claim to be Muslims but in reality are upon major Shirk, in other word they are polytheists:

“First one should listen to is; a lot of Shirk is spreading amongsts people and actual Tawheed is rare. Yet most people do not understand the meaning of Tawheed and Shirk and claim to have Eman (i.e. faith) but in reality are caught in Shirk. So firstly meaning of Tawheed and Shirk should be understood so good and bad from perspective of Quran and Hadith can be known. One should listen, that most people in time of their hardship call upon Pirs and Prophets, Imams and matyrs, angels and fairies, and seek from them their desired, and vows for them, and for fullfilment of their needs give Nazr and Niaz, and for the dispelling of evil attributes their sons to them. One (from amongst polytheistic masses) names his son Abdul Nabi, one Ali Baksh, one Hussain Baksh, one Peer Baksh, one Madar Baksh, one Salar Baksh, one Ghulam Mohy Al-Din, one Ghulam Mohayn Al-Din, and to ensure their survival (of their sons) one keeps hair-lock in name of so, and one wears bracelet/neclace, one dresses up in particular clothes, one puts a chain (around the wrist), one dedicates an animal for someone, one invokes in time of difficulty, one takes an oath (of by name of human) in discussions, conclusion – all that which the Hindus enact for their idols so do these masquerading Muslims enact for saints, Prophets, leaders (i.e. Imams), Matyrs, angels and fairies. And yet continue to claim to be Muslims, subhan-Allah, (from) this face, and such a claim (of being Muslim)[1], honourable Allah truthfully said in chapter Yusuf: "And most of them believe not in Allah except while they associate others with Him." [Ref: 12:106] Then if there was someone to explain to them and says to them, you claim to have Eman and engage in actions of Shirk, so why do you combine these two paths (of Tawheed and Shirk)? They respond to him, we do not committ Shirk …” [Ref: Taqwiyatul Iman, Chapter (1) Explanation Of Tawheed And Shirk, Page 8/9, Rendered to English by MuhammedAli]

Note he wrote Tawheed is rare (i.e. nayab). Rare is not commonly found. The reason they preach to Muslims is because they believe vast majority of Muslims are actually polytheists hence we need to make them Muslim in true sense.

- [1] Used when something is obviously not true: "Esa moon aur yeh dawah" A ugly woman says, I am beautiful and someone responds with: "Esa moon aur yeh dawah" Implying such a ugly face and this type of claim [of being beautiful don't add-up]. Here Ismail Dehalvi used it to mean being such a clear Mushrik/polytheist and claiming to be a Muslim don't add up.

This is a result of a new aggressive strain of the Barelwi sect that is under the influence of hardcore preachers like Hanif Qureshi, Khadim Rizvi and others in the Punjab, and of course the Sunni Tehrik which is strongest in Karachi. This aggressive camp of Barelwis highly emphasizes the concept of Ishq (passionate love and devotion) of the Prophet ﷺ and the concept of Ghaira to defend his person from his enemies. So for them, to murder anyone that has shown even the slightest disrespect to the Prophet ﷺ is an heroic deed that is praiseworthy and honorable. Now of course, there is some basis for defense of the honor of the Prophet ﷺ and all Muslims ideally should love the Prophet ﷺ more than even their parents, spouse and children. This is why many non-Muslims are baffled at the strong emotional response of Muslims when our Prophet ﷺ is attacked. That is because the secular world no longer understands what Ishq is. Their hearts do not know what true Ishq is, at most they can experience lust or some low level form of love for their close family members, but apart from that they are very cold blooded and are genuinely puzzled as to why Muslim feelings are deeply hurt whenever our Prophet ﷺ is attacked. So there is a huge disconnect there. However, most Muslims will agree with me that murdering a fellow Muslim because of theological differences over issues such as Nur and Bashar, Hadir and Nadir, and the like, is going to the extreme and not at all acceptable in our Faith. If a Tablighi Jama’at person said that he doesn’t believe the Prophet is literally made from the substance of Light but is a mortal human being – in fact majority of us Muslims believe this – you as a Barelwi cannot say that he is blaspheming and insulting the Prophet ﷺ, because insulting must have intent behind it. Otherwise do you sincerely think this member of Tablighi Jama’at, a sect devoted to preaching Islam, literally intended to insult the Prophet ﷺ that he deserved to be murdered in the middle of the night in a Mosque of all places?

But at the other extreme are the ‘secularists’ and ‘liberals’ who want to do away with the law altogether which prescribes strict punishment for those found guilty of defiling Islam, the Prophet ﷺ and the Holy Quraan. For them, it is less bearable to be embarrassed that Pakistan is known as a ‘backwards’ and ‘fanatic’ country with such laws than to bear an attack on the person of our beloved and holy Prophet ﷺ. So obviously such liberals and secularists are Munafiqeen who have no attachment to Islam. In fact I know that today many of the elite Pakistanis have more concern for Pakistan than for Islam, and more concern for the geopolitical interests of Pakistan than the Muslim Umma.
