Tables turned, 1,800 academics relocated to China in 2020, China beat US and became the world’s most attractive destination for scientists

I don't think China lacks geniuses in sports. Look at this girl, 11 years old and height> 2 meters.

cô bé trung quốc cao 2 mét.jpg

Her mother was a basketball athlete and her father was also very high. The girl's dream is to become a basketball athlete.

China does not lack good seeds, but they don't care about it. They don't want to find and care for domestic talents, because of ingrained inferiority complex as chinese people. Instead, they support ideas - invite Athletes from abroad to China, providing money, houses, and women to foreigners.

And this is despite China still having the strictest migration policies compared with the loose policies in like usa etc.
western progaganda are designed to fool the gullibles who never travel abroad.
The scientists know where is good for their careers & safety.
Some including some think tank analyst repeatedly claim that no one in the sane mind would like to like in a dictatorial, autocratic shithole like China, they don't bother to do some youtube search to find out how many foreigners are already living in China and how they enjoy their lives here.

.
how many papers did they publish in the Worlds most reusable journals ?
Akira Fujishima, the winner of many Nobel prizes in physics and the best scientist in the field of optics in Japan. 2021, he refused invitations from the University of Arizona and the University of Rochester, has led his whole team to join Shanghai University of technology in China. He and two members of his team have submitted an application for Chinese nationality.

Himself, his team & families know very well their lives will be in danger, from racial violence & virus, had they moved to the west.
Unlike dumb people, smart people value their lives & know the importance of zero covid policy.

China needs a lot of global talents like him, not the sports garbage pile.

Because of the neglect of STEM discipline education, the overall collapse of the West in the field of science and technology is only a matter of time.
Moreover, racial discrimination against Asians is becoming more and more serious, and more and more Asian scientists will choose a safer and more comfortable research environment. Especially immigrants from wealthy East Asian countries.

Scientists leave the UK as China overtakes US as most favoured destination

The UK suffered an outflow of nearly 1,300 scientists in 2020, having been a net importer of academics in 2015, the year before the Brexit vote to leave the EU, OECD data shows.

The new analysis of scientific migration data also shows a remarkable turnaround in the fortunes of the US and China.

In 2015, the US was the most attractive scientific destination in the world, enticing close to 3,000 net scientists. But by 2020, that dropped to 1,000.

In the same period, China went from losing scientists, to replacing the US as the world’s most attractive destination. In 2020, a net total nearly 1,800 academics relocated to the country.

Mate most of them are of Chinese origin, working in various universities/research labs across US/Europe....they are being now looked upon through suspicion (as the west realised they are key to technology theft from West to China), their contracts are being cancelled/not renewed......
This is what is causing the mass exodus of so called "scientist" to China.... in fact is is the "Chickens coming back to roost"

Could be, but how do you explain the sharp drop of the talents relocating to US and UK? Do you imply that most of the world top talents are all Chinese origin?

But I think she is ok, her mother is from Beijing , her father is a white American, she speaks Chinese like a perfect Beijing girl, those who are half Chinese and can speak native level Chinese should have no trouble to be naturalized.

Well there's still many Chinese Americans on the 2022 US Team and both their parents are Chinese.

US is an immigration country, why surprised? almost everyone is an immigrant in real sense, including you.

LOL! And China is an emigration country...and the US isn't :coffee:...why should we be surprised? You guys can't get on the planes fast enough. 600,000 Chinese people threw their citizenship away and became US citizens in the last 20 years.

You can claim a handful are going back...but certainly not stadiumsful.

Cause China doesn't allow immigrants, so the only way to go is out, China makes exceptions for foreing top talents, and this is why China becomes the most attractive destination for global scientist now. You know what, most Chinese moved to US are from rural farming regions in Fujian province, many of them don't even read Chinese, you can have them, the more the merrier.

There's a big difference between Chinese simply moving out and Chinese renouncing their citizenship. There isn't a flood of US citizens renouncing for Canada, some country in Europe, or Singapore.
