Those are old tanks Russia gave South Korea to pay off its debts, they are currently being retired and put in reserve, it used to serve at both front line and aggressor training.

There were some news (Not sure if they are rumor) that Russia is looking to either buy back or recycle those tanks and APC in 2016. Not sure how this goes.

And there are also rumour on US was interested on those tank, they had indeed already bought 4 from Ukraine. They may ask the ROK to sell them those, again, this is a rumour.
