Yes, he maybe has one point, but french goods are also not proven - and have not been shown in any combat action! nonetheless, nations are buying this crap ... japan has only recently started producing hardware again and this is far superior to its competition ... the USA knows that otherwise, they would not try to maintain their influence on japan by all means ... the reaction of the USA on the Japanese 's refusal to buy the AEGIS system ... apparently they want to develop their own - the realm of the rising sun will wake up ...

Because OSCE sanctioned AZ back in 1992 - there is an arms embargo on AZ - that is why...
Not because Japan wouldn't like to coop with us... please keep in mind all points

Over the last two years I have read dozen articles from american defense sites about exporting F-22/F-35 technology... last article was:”Japan refusing LM assistance”
Why would someone refuse such “privileged” offer??
My guess is that americans want to restrict export of this aircraft by fouling japanese into accepting critical american technology so that later if they try to export it americans will have final say(US actually want to make Sweden-like scenario on Japan)

I already mentioned that Japan is developing its own jet engines and they are very advanced compared to the ones the USA in trying to force on Japan, also Japan doesn't need support in developing new aircraft - the US is just trying to keep the control over Japans Defence industries and exports... like they did it with turkey for almost 100 yrs... disgusting

stealth technology that is more advanced than that of the F22 and F35 - an engine with a thrust-to-weight ratio

when important products are finished and the doctrine changes, the state opens up to export, customers will also come - but you have to keep in mind that Japan is not an export nation in terms of military hardware - unlike Germany, for example...
