T-129 Atak & Turkish Attack Helicopter Programs

Actually Morocco chose Apache Longbow recently.. May be in the future they might add Atak but for now i guess the business is finished.

Unless you've seen or read anything about Morroco signing an agreement with boeing to buy AH-64, they haven't selected yet.

Bro, Most probably, Atak-2 was in concept assessment phase in days when Temel Kotil and İsmail Demir gave different weight figures. In final, The concept is matured and It is agreed to be a 8 ton attack helicopter platform to be developed. I think It is the best wieght concept to integrate all required sensor. Full EW suits, DIRCM, MMW radar along with improved weapon carriage capacity is what we need and Heavier Atak-2 will certainly meet the requirements of Turkish Armed Forces.

Btw, Medium lift helo project is also increased to 12tons instead of previously announced 10tons.
Cabatlı these figures corresponds for MTOW right ?

Atak Engine Waits for November

C4Defence reveals how Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) will work on getting export license for T-129 Atak helicopter engines will be exported to Pakistan. Pakistan has recently inked a deal with TUSAS to acquire 30 T-129 Atak Helicopter.

The IP rights of the helicopter engine are in the hands of LHTEC, a joint venture between the US firm Honeywell and the UK firm Rolls-Royce.

C4Defence has learned that prior applying for an official permission there were other steps to be passed. The "adviser opinion" process has been successfully completed. The "Advice Opinion" has been made available. This means US Government may bring the sale of such goods in agenda during official discussions. It means they can say they like the product. Such phrases indicate that US is aware of negotiations and supports it.

For a commercial product, it is necessary to obtain export licenses from the US Trade Secretary, for military ones from Pentagon. Engine that Turkey needs to sell to Pakistan requires Pentagon’s export licence. According to the negotiations between Turkey and Pakistan, the decision should be taken until November

Pakistan deal will be canceled because of usa. Yea "manufacturing" something is not a guarantee to export it...

I dont see this deal going through, look at this for example:

France is seeking to reduce its reliance on U.S. approval for French arms exports as Washington withholds clearance for an American component on the French Scalp cruise missile, which blocks the sale of additional Rafale fighter jets to Egypt.

https://www.defensenews.com/global/...ked-by-a-us-regulation-and-france-is-over-it/

There is little chance that the Americans will approve because a) its Erdogans Turkey and b) its being sold to Pakistan.

Dont worry, they cant block anything, just threats.
But with a troubling relationship between USA and Both Turkey & Pakistan, I can imagine a scenario that Trump take such a step.

What if he would take such a step, there are many alternative turboshaft engines and also the Turkish one will be ready by the time the first Pakistani T-129(4 to 5 years) is due to be handed over.
Trump cant do sh!t,even if he wanted to,delay it,yes but nothing else.
Erdogan knows he is in a position to ''demand'',Putin is on standby.
Imagine losing NATO ally Türkiye to Russia (in some sense) but most importantly, independent(hello nukes),what it would mean for the safety of Europe,Israel and the GCC Arabs.
Dont buy that bs that the KSA/UAE axis is close to Israel and arming itself to the teeth because of Iran.
We will Nuke up the minute we leave the ''western alliance'',they know this.
The risks are to big for the US,at least it tried(coupe attempt).
So,no worries.

Umm... You seem to be forgetting the teeny tiny ever so insignificant little fact that the US Senate passed a bill to prevent F-35 sales and limit international loans to Turkey while the US government applied sanctions to two Turkish ministers.
The US has been implementing an unofficial sanction on sales of weapons to Turkey for a while now and the atak engines are not that big of a deal either, they can restrict it in a flick of a finger.
Also first Pakistani ATAK delivery in 4-5 years? Where are you getting that from?
