Anyone know how intensely the T129's are being used?
Not muvh mentioned about them in news articles, keep hearing about the Cobra's mostly.

IF we know this, then something must really go wrong or not ? ^^

How would it help the terrorists to know if they are being killed by Cobra's or T129's?
They don't have manpad's anyway, at least not that we know of.

if pakistan wants the t129 then it must ditch the us engine and go european.

Might i recommend the MTR MTR390 at 1465hp, its more powerful then the
LHTEC T800-4a at 1361HP which is powering the t129. A little extra horses could be useful in high altitudes

btw the mtr-390 is powering the eurocopter tiger

Don´t think that this will happen.

That would create the same problem. What if the Europeun countries sanction or block this deal? For T-129 export to happen we must develop our own. Luckely we have a program going on for one.

it an idea, it not exactly gospel, besides its a viable solution.

europe is more left wing then the US. the chances of Pakistan getting a european engine is greater than getting an american engine.

also can you elaborate this please : Luckely we have a program going on for one

Thats a good idea i think, If T129 is on sale with different engine types this can widen the customers and give a pressure on each side of engine providers for lowering sanctions. But shouldnt forget that, MTU is purchased by RR , which also partner of Honeywell in LHTEC company.

When engines compared, They are quite similar to each other just CTS 800 1 kg more, and provides more power output at continous rate .And the current version installed in Eurocopters is 2C version.

CTS800-4 ; MTR390 (2C - E)
MCR*1 ; 955 kw ; 853 ( 1000) kw
Take Off ; 1014 kw ; 958 ( 1094) kw
Weight (Dry) ; 170 kg ; 169 ( 179?) kg
30 seconds OEI*1 ; 1208 kw ; 1160 ( 1322) kw
2 minutes OEI ; 1108 kw ; -
Continous OEI ; 1014 kw ; -

But it all depends, how much it can be achieved.

well that is a good idea to have 2 engine suppliers but it would be costly two have them. this is because each engine is different and the airframe would need to be modified to accommodate different engines, and this would also mean the engine control software would need to be different for each engine. rolls royce is a partner of honeywell but this should not affect anything as long as if the mtr-390 engines parts are not made in the US.

what about the s70... tai builds them, do they build the engine too? if so is the engine powerful enough to meet the requirements to fit the t129? hence making the t129 un-sanctionable
