Bashar is so tensed that he finishes the prayer before the Imam

:disagree:Vice president will never be with the president at the same time and same place in public, and that's done internationally especially during conflicts. and about his brother, his brother is just a soldier, he can pray in his hometown, i have never seen Maher and Bashar at the same time.

Now what about praying with weapons?

Alright, but what about praying with weapons ?

Did Bashar leave a place safe to pray without weapons by attacking mosques, specially on or near the conflict lines between the FSA and the govt. forces

I thought the FSA control 70% of the country, what happened now? hahaha you people contradict yourself.

So you now agree there is a conflict and not just a propaganda

I have always said there is conflict, i have even said it, Syria is at war against world terrorism. I have never denied there is a conflict. Syria is fighting terrorists from all over the world even from Britain.

And you should now believe that the "conflict" has gone out of the hands and it is time that Bashar moves on and let the people of Syria decide their new president.

Really what is he waiting for? he can get the end of Bin Ali, or Mubarak or Qadhafi (i have mentioned in order of the safest to the brutal) choice is his.

Alasad said it himself, I will not let go of my Responsibility, he job is to protect the country, he can't just quit in this chaos, when the country gets back to its normal life, and Damascus ranks back up again to number 4 safest city in the world, then elections will happen and Alasad will win again, because the people love him. You don't get it do you? if Syrian didn't want him he wouldn't last a minute in his office, nothing can overcome the power and the will of the people, all it takes just the majority to rise up and Alasad will leave office, but that's not what Syrians want, Syrian want to keep Alasad and they support him and they support reforms.

Where was this from happening before the uprising?

It is now too late for him. When Buthaina Shaban first came on TV at the very beginning of the uprising i had said to myself it is too late for Syrian government, the bullet has been fired from the gun and no way it can be taken back.

Soldiers always pray with their weapons with them when they are in an open air conflict zone, and Bashar prays with tens of guards inside a closed mosque guarding him not to mention the guards and security outside the mosque.

And long sleepless nights and tiredness are visible as well

Syrian president makes rare public appearance, seen performing Eid prayers

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad appeared alongside several members of his government on a state TV channel Sunday, making a rare public showing as he performed Eid al-Fitr prayers in a mosque in Damascus.

Unlike previous Eids, the embattled president did not pray in al-Amawi Grand Mosque. Instead, he and regime members chose to pray in a less grand Rihab al-Hamad Mosque.

Observers said Assad possibly chose the Hamad mosque because it was a more secure venue as the president forces fight armed revolt in the capital and elsewhere in the country.

Rihab al-Hamad Mosque is closer to the Presidential Palace than the historic grand mosque, which is also surrounded by old-structures that could conceal opposition attackers.

Among the senior officials present for prayers were Syria’s Foreign Minister Waleed al-Muallim and Minister of Religious Endowments Abdul al-Sattar al-Sayid.

It was Assad’s first appearance in public after a bombing in the Syrian capital last month killed the country’s defense minister and three other top security officials.

Eid al-Fitr, a three-day religious occasion Muslims celebrate after the holy month of Ramadan, has not brought any halt of violence in Syria.

Activists reported on Sunday shelling of a mosque in al-Rustun city in Homs while worshippers were performing the early morning eid prayers.

The July 18 rebel bombing of the state-security headquarters in the capital was a major blow to Assad. His brother-in-law was among five officials killed in the attack.

The Syrian regime has suffered a series of other setbacks over the past month that point to a loosening of its grip on the country.

There has also been a steady stream of high-level defections by government officials, diplomats and generals, though Assad's inner circle and military have largely kept their cohesive stance behind him. And the regime has been unable to fully subdue rebel challenges in the two major cities, Damascus and Aleppo.

Assad’s appearance comes amid much speculation on the whereabouts of Vice President Farouq al-Sharie, who was said by some members of the Free Syrian Army to have defected to the opposition. On Saturday, his office denied the reports and said al-Sharaa “did not think, at any moment, of leaving the country.”

Al-Sharie did not appear in the footage at the mosque with Assad.

On Saturday, oppostion group, Local Coordination Committees, said Syrian security forces killed around 174 people across the country.

The 17-month-old conflict between Assad’s regime and the oppostion trying to bring him down has left some 20,000 people dead, according to estimates by anti-Assad activists.

On a lighter note, Does anyone know why Al Mualim has not defected yet? Because FSA is having a hard time to find a truck that would be large enough for him to fit in and be concealed :D

63 have died today as of couple of hours back

Reports say that Turkey has started helping Syrian refugees on the the other side of Syrian border, looks like safe heaven for refugees with in Syrian territory is on the way...

Yes fight will last after his fall too but that will remain mainly in coastal belt but ultimately it will subside as the geography & demography of Syria is different from Iraq, why are keen to know my religiosity.. it does not matter to me that who you are what is your flag until you have reasonable discussion.

From what I know fighting will be worse and much much more sectarian. If Assad ends, then I am expecting 3-5 million civilian deaths in Syria in the hands of FSA and other fighting areas in the next 2-3 years. Now,I am suspecting that you are a pro-turk/salafi sunni.

Pro Turk/ Salafi Sunni ?
so many in one phrase

Yes most of the observers feel that after the fall of Al-Assad, FSA and Sunni population will take revenge from Nurserys without the backing of state apparatus they will definitely be targeted. In my view US/Israel would then propose safe heaven for Nuserys around Latakia region. see the geography & demography of Syria there would not be long drawn fighting it is a predominantly Sunnite country and ruling miority is very small in comparison to Iraq which has more Heterogeneous demography.
