Syrian Christians fear Islamist rule if Assad goes

According to Wikipedia, Sunnis form 30% of Bahrain and form the ruling elite in that country. Now tell me why does Shias who form the majority submit to the rule of this minority.
Because we say so.

. . .
I'm not saying so just because of religion/ethnicity. Please, ignore whatever these pseudo-Islamists say.

And of-course, Syria like any country have every right to enforce the rule of law. My only criticism is Assad's use of force against civilians. What does that have to do with religion or secularism? They in fact aren't even remotely related.

They didn't set up human rights and the international laws governing them for no reason.

Dude, I would have supported this uprising whole heartedly if it had happened before Iraq Invasion or the Egypt Uprising as I hate dictators as much as the next person.... but after seeing how Christians became targets of Islamists in both Iraq and Egypt after the regime change I have my doubts about the true intentions of these Syrian rebels. Even now ominous signals are coming from the rebel camp about the fate of Christians if they take over.

No, I am just tired of going trough this topic for the millionth time. Bahraini regime CAN NOT be compared to the Syrian one.

Why? Just bcs they are Sheikhs.

True, there was some violence against Iraqi Christians. Egypt is not too bad, but they need to improve for sure.

Ever seen how the Iraqi Shias slaughtered? Even after they were killed during bomb blasts, their funerals were bombed again to kill their families and friends. Now that's hardcore terrorism. Or plain evil perhaps?

I'm sure Iraq would be prosperous and stable for the years to come. Iraqis are generally educated and they have a lot of resources. Pity that Iraq was once the most developed nation in the Arab world back in the pre-Gulf War Saddam days.

The bottom line is that Assad's use of force is only going to increase sectarian tensions, I can guarantee that. What can't be guaranteed is Assad holding on to power for long. I don't know what would happen afterwards.

And as far as the Syrian rebels are concerned, we don't even know who or what they are. I do not believe everything I hear on the media, especially considering that journalists from foreign news networks cannot go there.

They could be mindless extremists, or good folks simply fighting for their rights. And if memory serves me, this fighting started after some protesters were attacked by government soldiers.

Let's be frank, Syria's economy hasn't exactly lived up to its potential under Assad's rule. They have resources, low population and a great historical and cultural heritage. Assad is doing something wrong for sure.

Are you drunk again?
The rebels just started to get an influx of weapons from us, that was the only reason why Bashar was able to maintain power for this long. They had no weapons!
Aleppo has risen up, the stronghold of Bashar supporters. Its only a matter time until we Salfis control Syria like we are controlling Egypt now.
the situation is quite now and you would not dare do something now after russia has made it clear that they wont leave syria what i am waiting for is the syrian revenge after finishing up the rebels belive me i will enjoy it just like what you wanted to do to syria the syrians will do to your country lets see how strong the saudi people are when this is happning in their homeland
about salafis control of egypt you are just imagning things there is something you havent know about becouse you are ignorant saudi it is called democracy so the last elections wont be the last and there is no salafi running for presdient in this elections so what are you talking about ? anyway i know you will never understand so just live in your imagniary world
The Syrian Christians and the Lebanese Christians sides with Israel and they are known of their sympathy towards the Jews more than towards their Muslim compatriots, they represent a weakness that Muslim Syrians are well aware of and will take the necessary measures to rectify the problem, with Assad in power or without (which is an unlikely scenario).
i dont agree with you making people in your homeland enemy is what isreal wants lets take egypt for example unlike egyptian jews who sold us out egyptian christans have always been with us in victory and defeat in the revoulotions since 1919 untill now

No, the difference is that Bahraini government is not sectarian unlike Syria, and Baraini Sunnis account for 50%.
BAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Bahrain is the only country in recent memory to have imported sunnis from around the region to change the demographic population of the country. These are middle age tactics. Plus, shias aren't allowed to hold top positions in office nor are they allowed to be in the military.

Bahrain IS one of the most secterian on the planet. By comparison Syria is actually good.

What I am about to say is controversial but it is a solution to the meltdown in Syria. There is no doubt the govts of the GCC are sending arms to the FSA. However one thing that worries me is the Wahhabi importation the GCC will send to Syria. Assad has to go but the Wahhabi militias in Syria will be well armed and funded in the post Assad regime. They will target Christians,Kurds and other ethnic minorities. When that happens Syria will become a second Yugoslavia with the nation being torn apart and ethnic fiefdoms will be formed. After any armed revolution there is chaos. I know this because I am the son of two haitian immigrants. Haiti has suffered chaos after revolutions. Now my controversial solution to prevent post Assad Syria turning into Lebanon of the '80s,Iraq in the 2000s or Yugoslavia in the '90s is for Turkey to launch an invasion of Syria. Turkey will overthrow Assad. However they will occupy Syria until the SNC will gain power. Also with Turkish troops in Syria they can put the boot down in ethnic militias, warlords and wahhabi extremist. Turkey has the manpower for it,they are a moderate nation and have a powerful military. With this Turkey will act as the referee in any sectarian violence. Assad is going to leave but i do not think the foreign SNC is ready to govern Syria after the chaos of a bloody armed uprising. If not post Assad Syria will be Iraq times 1000.

@PapaDoc23

Invasion and wars is never a solution, we saw the freedom USA brought to Iraq when they invaded Iraq in name of Democracy. Now you want to Turkey to start A WAR IN NAME OF PEACE. Yeah good luck.
