Yes it is. It is a demeaning word against Saudis to show case them as non-Muslims. So yeah it is an Insult. Imagine if I called you something you are not like "Fat" or "Stupid". So when you call people something they are not that is an Insult.

There is no such a thing as Wahhabism never was never will be. Not a single person Identifies himself as "Wahhabi" and there is no clear guidelines to who is "Wahhabi" and what is their "Key difference from other proposed sects" and thus there is no such a thing as "Wahhabism" a word that you yourself here use as an Insult.

"Wahhabi" is seen as an Insult here. The very word Wahhabi suggests that people follow the saying of Wahhab as Bible which is not true. What we follow is Islam the way God intended. We use Quran and Hadith to drive our religious practices not the sayings of some guy. not once in my years of going to school have I read about abdul-wahab except once in history class and we have a very long and full religious education system. So no we are not following "Wahhabism" or whatever and then painting it as its own sect which is not Sunni or Shia. Hell the Idea of this so called "Wahhabism" being its own sect is even gaining momentum a perfect way to shut off Saudi Arabia from the rest of the Islamic world don't you think??

And to make matters worse they Identify terrorism with this so called "Wahhabism" too when in fact it was Egyptian Salafis who started this Anti-Western Resistance movement but again they throw this blame on us to further Isolate us from the rest of the world. Hussien if you think media against Iran is bad try being Saudi for once.
