Geez man! Calm down, i only asked you to take off your hat, I didn't accuse you of anything. FYI sometimes certain things are too obvious and even over come the hidden intent. If you want us to believe that the Muslims are treated fairly in Europe and this is an isolated incident then you are not fooling us.
1. You're now switching from me personally in relation to muslims and muslims in europe.
2. I've not discussed in any way 'muslims' in europe', as this is not the topic of the thread per se.
3. You go on about how 'muslims' are treated in 'Europe' without even the vaguest of recognition of the fact that neither term is unequivocal defined.
4. You can't pretend that Europe is a uniform entity, EU notwithstanding (just like Asia isn't).

6. The proportion of muslims in the population of European countries varies, as does their origin and their history
7. Muslims can also be local converts. Here, we're dealing with immigrants (which have already been allowed asylum and access to the country a fifteen years ago - i.e. just before or after the birth of the oldest boy) that are now applying for citizenship. There may be a difference between applying for asylum and for citizenship, in terms of what requirements must be met. This is quite common in a great many countries all over the world

That is true to an extent but when they see that you are a Muslim you don't even qualify for the minority rights. As mentioned in the OP stripping people of their citizenship just because they refused to shake hands is excessively ridiculous and prejudiced. They have a problem with Islam and it's adherents not with minorities. When we speak of Pakistan, well no body is treated well except the elites.
Nobody was stripped of their citizenship in this case. The parents were granted asylum in 2001. The family apparently now applied for citizenship. That means they do not yet have Swiss citenship. And it could imply the children weren't born in Switzerland.
So shaking hand with male/female is mandatory ? I think it is also a personal matter, personal choice irrespective of faith.

Try moving to e.g. Japan and not mastering social etiquette. How well do you think you will do in time, in the society you adopted as your new home? Cross out the word 'Japan' and insert the name of any other country. ANY (im)migrant will feel the tension between what is customary where their from, and where they went to. Interestingly enough, the first generation tends to actually handle this tension better than their offsping: the first generation either deals with it or fails to, whereas the second generation is really stuck between two worlds, neither of which is home.
you cannot claim of providing freedom of religion and curbing it at the same time. You have to decide if you want aliens or not. not issuing visa or entry just because someone does not want to shake hand well that is not justified
