Based on my conversations on various platforms, I can vouch for the fact that Americans are very good at conveying their point-of-view as well as absorbing negativity and criticism coming their way on average. This is an admirable quality of a nation.
If you are to win Hearts and Minds and convince people to buy your products, then you need to grow a Thicker Skin alongside. You may not like feedback at times.
Even from among those who have rejected your goods, some can be won back at some point. However, no guarantees.
The notion of complaints extend both ways and never one-sided.

At my workplace we have sensitivity training to not be seen as too critical. We also have media training which boils down to: never talk to the media and refer them to corporate media specialists AKA professional liars.
this isn't about individuals. Corporations don't have a thick skin or thin skin. Imagine accusing Apple of having toxic plasticizers in their products. Should Apple just have a thick skin and shrug it off?
