Swat now bastion of peace: Gen Qamar
SwatGeneral Officer Commanding Swat Major General Ghulam Qamar said on Thursday that restive valley has been cleared of extremists on the successful completion of operation Rah-e-Raast and made it once against bastion of lasting peace. The GOC said, now it was our collective responsibility to maintain the peace and harmony in Swat in the days to come. He was talking to local media men after addressing a ceremony held on the completion of training of the extremists involved in petty nature militancy related activities here at Pakistan Army institute Sabaon.
The GOC gave certificates to 32 youth on the successful completion of their training and sent them to their homes. He said operation has been completed in Swat and exemplary peace restored in the valley. He informed that the trials of the arrested people would start soon.
Major General Ghulam Qamar expressed the confidence that the passed out youth would play their role in promoting peace in the society and would utilize their expertise imparted to them in different traders for earning livelihood in a dignified manner. He informed that hundreds of youth completed their training at Sabaon institute and living a peaceful and dignified life with their family members.
