Surface To Air Missiles operated by Pakistan

U know so much secret info than please enlighten us about new aesa based ground radars inducted in PA /PAF to detect stealth targets as even if we consider ur points these SAMS are useless without credible Radars.

Please also provide details how much Pak has improved it's Air defenses since Usama fiasco so no more stealth helllis our jets may not enter Pak air space. As per one version even US forces Jammed Pak Radars when they raided the compound.
There is no way to stop low observable helicopters in a terrain like Pakistan's.

Thanks for reply please also give some brief counter measures to be taken by Pakistan. As Pak may stop such acts from Afghan side in future.

All info in public domain is 50% rumors, 50% hearsay, but when it comes out as, "My xyz works there and he said bla bla bla" then that bla bla bla becomes authentic and usable intelligence.

Pakistan may Purchase Chinese SAM HQ9

Islamabad expects a sale proposal from Beijing for the new Chinese SAM HQ9.
Reportedly, Pakistan is ready to make a decision over new Chinese SAM HQ9 pending receipt of a complete sales proposal. The possible procurement of Chinese SAM HQ9 was discussed by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif last Friday during a high-level meeting with senior Chinese officials. A statement release by the office of Pakistan’s PM read,

The Prime Minister said that the decision for induction of Air Defense System in Pakistan by CPMIEC would be finalized after receipt of complete proposal from the Chinese side. The Prime Minister noted with satisfaction the pace of existing join collaborative mechanism between Ministry of Defense Production and CPMIEC in other fields of mutual interest.

Chinese delegation that met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan included the deputy head of the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC), Wi Yiyin, and the chairman of the China Precision Machinery Import and Export Corporation (CPMIEC), Zhao Xiaolong. The Chinese delegation was visiting Pakistan to discuss strengthening defense industrial ties between the two countries. The press release by the PM’s office in Pakistan did not mention which defense systems, if any, were being considered for purchase however, analysts believe that it could be the long-anticipated acquisition of the Chinese SAM HQ9.

According to an analyst at Quwa Defense News & Analysis Group,

it is (…) possible that the long-awaited push for a long-range SAM system is finally underway.

The long-range system in question may be the Chinese SAM HQ9, or an export variant of the system dubbed FT-2000. This system is developed by CPMIEC. It is worth noting here that Pakistan and China have discussed procuring HQ9 since year 2000 without ever concluding a deal. Pakistan placed an order for the medium-range HQ16 (Hongqi16) SAM system in 2014 but remained indecisive over the HQ9. Quwa’s analysis concluded,

Pakistan could be inviting a proposal in regards to expanding its medium-range coverage area via the HQ16. But given the proposal was noted by the Prime Minister, the idea of it being in regards to the HQ9 or FT-2000 should not be ruled out.

The Chinese SAM HQ9 is the derivative of the Russian S300 long-range SAM system. It can effectively engage aircrafts, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. Allegedly the operational range of the export variant FT-2000 has somewhat shorter range at 125kms (77 miles) compared to the original HQ9 that can reportedly hit targets and 200kms (124 miles).

On Monday, this week, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), General Raheel Sahrif, to discuss strengthening China-Pak bilateral relationship. In particular, the two discussed deepening military-to-military ties. Sharif also met with the Vice Chairman of China’s Central Military Commission, Fan Changlong.

I think HQ 9 in current form is weak because its range is 200 km not good enough atleast 350 km range and can hit target well beyond 5000 feet if you compare ranges of hq 9 and S 300 there is a difference

.
Pakistan needs to develop a long range layer for air defense. If S300 or S400 are not available to Pakistan then it should absolutely go with HQ9.

sorry but 5000 feet sir? :what:
You mean 50000??

Yes there is difference between S300 and HQ9 but both have there own advantages and disadvantages. Keeping in mind our requirement and possible future procurement, HQ9 is the best choice for us.
