It's only gonna a be a slap in the wrist for kalmadi!! just have a look at the charges against him!! it's only pertaining to queen's baton relay which is worth couple of hundred thousand pounds!! what about all those other frauds in CWG which is worth humongous amount of money? he wouldn't be charged with that! you knoiw why?? if they do.. then the skeletons will tumble out of closet!! so i'm not too excited about all this!

What you said may be right, Central govt cannot touch DMK now. But they cannot be invincible always...last time also DMK was powerful, baalu was removed, this time also DMK is powerful, its the turn of Kanimozhi. Congress the knows the politics of Divide and Rule more than any one in India. Slowly they will target The Marans, financial power of DMK. It will happen soon.

There are new parties, young parties like Lok-Satta (J P Narayan's party), Lok-Paritrana (ex-IIT-ians' party) etc etc. but none are being able to grasp anyone's imagination. When these parties were launched, I immediately started following them keenly thinking they will bring in the changes we require. Unfortunately, none of them are able to generate any public interest.

TN politics is crazy to say the least. Both the probable parties are led by tainted leaders. All are promising goodies to the voters left and right. Even independent candidates promising Tata Nano to voters. Real crazy political scenario. I think TN should be ruled by one of the national parties for a while, just to cool it down a bit (those goody giving parties I mean). Makes one wonder what's EC is doing..

A little late but was inevitable.
The agency should go to the bottom of the case and punish everybody, kalmadi seems to be a small fish, considering the amount being talked about.

Allowing people to do corruption and then trying to catch them seems to be quite expensive. We should have a system in which everything is shown in transparent manner(like posting all deals, tenders in internet) so that people can detect it in the early stage.

Usually all agencies do it this way, if you really want to punish somebody. What you have to do is create a watertight case for one offence or two, which can give considerable punishment. Preparing 40000 pages of documents to show all wrongdoing of one person is going to take the judicial process too long. That is basically a delaying tactic.

Same is done for multiple murder cases, police just tries to prove one or two, he will get maximum punishment anyway.

However agency should go into details, and find all other big fishes, who also benefited. It is difficult to believe this one guy was behind all corruption.
