Breaking News: Supreme Court's Media Commission report has been leaked on the internet by some anonymous source. This commission includes highly respectable Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid and Justice Javed Jabbar. * It was revealed that lot of funds were pouring into the media outlet from abroad in the form of sponsorship. For instance "Zara Socheeya" programme had received sponsorship to the extent of Pounds 20 million.

* It was also reported that programmes prepared by Indian producers were being sold to parties in Dubai from where these programmes were coming to Pakistan. It was difficult to provide documentary proof of such deals.

* Another instance reported was that of "Aman Ki Aysha" programme which was being funded by Norwegian NGO named "Friends without Borders". Going into the background of the funding to this programme, it was found that the foot-prints lead to Indian sponsors including the Indian State Television, the Doordarshan.

* Commission was informed that PEMRA had initiated dialogue with the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) on the issue of content regulation and the code of conduct. But there has been no positive response from the PBA. They, on the other hand, have preferred to approach the courts .

One can clearly disagree with Naysayers who believe in absolute freedom of press for quite obvious reasons. CNN & BBC as a prime example of supporting very much 'Internal, National vested interests' of US and UK and western world at large by hiding the facts and influencing the masses with narrative which they believe is right.

Having said that, do you really believe the number of US soldiers dying or getting killed in Afghanistan for instance, is in fact the actual figure as reported by BBC or CNN? People who go to alternative media sources/conflicting for example Russian TV/RT find different versions of similar stories reported by BBC or CNN.

Its really easy to build an opinion on conflicting stories (I call them parallel truth) as conspiracy theories and turning a blind eye over it.

Another example would be mass killings of Burmese Rohingya Muslims by Buddhists which was an under-reported issue by western media. People dying to synchronize their tears fall with Malala (depicting Muslims as some savage creatures left on earth) never were shown the other side of story where act of terrorism and violence described itself as a belief with no religion associated.

Its a established fact that media cant function with restrictions but another fact is that it DOES manipulates masses and their opinions regardless. Now this works as a blessing and curse when the ones pulling the strings start using it for personal gains. Media personnel arent no holy cows to be excluded from bandwagon of hyaenas in our society. Journalism is a noble profession, but journalists/media houses can turn out to be crooks.
