ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan Thursday issued notices to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Attorney General while hearing petition of Jamaat-e-Islami chief Siraj-ul-Haq seeking probe into the corruption charges anchored in Panama Papers.

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard five identical pleas, clubbed together, filed under Article 184 of the Constitution, to request the court to disqualify Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The two other judges of the bench are Justice Ijazul Hassan and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain.

It is pertinent to note here that Sirajul Haq, in his petition, did not mention the premier’s name and urged the court to issue directives to investigating agencies for a probe into the Panama Papers scandal, arrest the people involved, recover the public money and bring it back to Pakistan.

Tariq Asad Advocate submitted before the bench that the citizens are requesting not to shut down Islamabad.

Seeking the Prime Minister to submit his response within 15 days, the apex court adjourned the hearing for two weeks.

Plainclothes police in large number stood guard around the premises of the apex court on this occasion. –SAMAA

Nothing but only pure drama. Judges are corrupt & incompetent as hell.

unfortunately , Pakistani politics resolve in the open, not in the court. Because Pakistan civil judicial system is spineless and corrupt.
