Please don't be too harsh on them, they have learnt their lesson for now at least. Even it it were Indian guards we would have applied the same course of action. That's actually a very good point. We are becoming a stupid nation wanting to arrest & put in jail, anyone & everyone, simply based on accusations. Other than serious crimes where there is a risk to society as well as a possible flight risk, putting people in jail before they are convicted is stupid.

On an connected point, look at the case of Karthik Gowda, the son of Union Minister Sadanand Gowda who is in news because of a past affair. The girl has said she married him and also pressed charges of rape (in this case, sex under false pretenses-no force is alleged). The channels are going berserk about it & not one person is asking how if the girl is claiming to be married to him, the charge of rape stands? She should be filing a case under bigamy & cheating. That would be common sense, yet we are seeing a continuous circus and wasting the time of the courts when they are already heavily burdened.

Charging the Italian marines was a foolish move, one that exposes Indian soldiers abroad to similar treatment. If the case is that they mistook fishermen to be pirates, how will a charge of murder be made? This should have been dealt with diplomatically, both the Congress & the BJP behaved stupidly. It seems that the new government is preparing to allow this case to be buried slowly. Should have been done a long time ago, no logic in spoiling our relations with a friendly country just because Sonia Gandhi happens to be of Italian origin.

BJP until now has not displayed a single trait where it can be charged of slighting India, though it would be interesting to see why they did not object to the bail. We saw what the Congress govt did during Utarakhand floods. That was just last year and more than 15,000 died and what Congress was doing with relief supplies was seen by everyone. How BJP has responded to the flood in Kashmir is also seen by everyone.

So you can put on all the smiles you want, but your favorite Congress will keep getting spit on.

The congress stood with its relief supplies parked in front of their office waiting for Rahul Gandhi to return from his vacation in Italy so that they could photo op the flagging off of the convoys. All those trucks of relief supply went there where there were no roads and sent back 15 days later. Your congress govt was a joke.

The congress could not do anything then and Italy had to send those marines back. Otherwise, the Italian govt had shown the middle finger to your Congress govt.

My prejudice? In any other country the kind of secularism India practiced would have gotten all the sickulars put in Jail. The day I see a single honest bone in a sickularist, is the day I will stop my "prejudice." I did not ignore the govt's approach but I did take note of the following: The guy has suffered a stroke, could be serious leading to death if there is a repeat. This govt as of yet is not involved in any scams, Augusta or Quatorrochi of any other involving Italy. So I have no reason to suspect this govt's motives as of yet.

What do you mean how democracy works? Did Modi stop the relief supplies in front of his office for a week before flagging it off? He has visited 4 countries in the last 2 months and yet has his pulse on everything that is happening in India including decision making.

No, according to the news reports Omar is missing in action. The entire work is being directed by the Central administration. In Patnaik, there was not an absconding CM. He was in charge and he took precautions. No Sonia or Manmohan had anything to say or do there. So have some shame again and ask people around what is the news if you have disability in reading news reports. Yes your Congress. The same ones who let in the flood of missionaries in India to convert India into a Christian nation and hence your loyalty towards them.
