John Bolton said US has been very clear to Pakistan on ending support to terrorist safe havens.

US National Security Adviser John Bolton told his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval on Friday that America supports India's right to self-defence.

Mr Bolton telephoned Mr Doval Friday morning to express his condolences for the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir and offered the US' full support to India in confronting terrorism.

"I told Ajit Doval today that we support India's right to self-defence. I have spoken to him twice, including this morning... and expressed US' condolences over the terrorist attack," he told PTI.

Mr Bolton said the US has been very clear to Pakistan on ending support to terrorist safe havens.

"We have been very clear on that score... And, we are continuing to be in discussions we are going to have with the Pakistanis," he said.

Earlier, the White House and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo asked Pakistan to end its support to terrorist safe havens inside the country.

"We stand with #India as it confronts terrorism. Pakistan must not provide safe haven for terrorists to threaten international security," Mr Pompeo said on Twitter.

In a stern message to Pakistan, the White House asked Islamabad to "immediately end" its "support" to all terror groups and not to provide "safe haven" to them, as the US condemned the brutal Pulwama terror attack claimed the lives of at least 40 CRPF soldiers.

Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has claimed responsibility for the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Thursday that left at least 40 CRPF soldiers dead and five others critically wounded.

"The United States calls on Pakistan to end immediately the support and safe haven provided to all terrorist groups operating on its soil, whose only goal is to sow chaos, violence, and terror in the region," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a late night statement on Thursday.

Of course, every country has right to defend themselves , if India lunch a attack on Pakistan same rule apply to Pakistan , and we will be in right to do so .. US issue the usual statement nothing new there, India is very desperate to rally world against Pakistan , as the elections coming up and Pakistan starting to come out of that economical mess .
America has no Influence on Pakistan, No F-16's , No Aid , Afghanistan is a lost cause , What America will do to pressurize Pakistan ? India should investigate the attack I am sure someone from their own Establishment will be the real culprit .

Economic pressure can be applied by denying access to Pakistani goods in US markets ... Pakistan should come out clearly that it’s indigenous movement nothing to do with Pakistan ... foreign minister should use this as a leverage and come on international media ... turn this whole indian story in Kashmiris people favor ... why is Pakistan missing this golden opportunity

True, what you are telling is one side of the story and has been true - but!

Elements which made Pakistan reach where it reached are gone, in jails and out of service. Count how many billions are coming to Pakistan and from which countries. Our internal land resources are worth trillions. A mere 100 Billion debt is minuscule in contrast to our potentials - and the world knows that more than you want them to know.

And its not about land resources only - Pakistan is terrorism free with elements of 4th generation warfare available to enemies approaching zero. Strategically, politically, geo-politically and militarily - Pakistan is one heck of a place, and India know that as well.

Infect from America - what do you think USA is in position to do against Pakistan? Other than using its political influence in the world (which too is diminishing), they cannot harm Pakistan in anyway. Not even financially anymore.

You do realize that US acting ambassador was summoned yesterday because of the US statement. Anyway even the Indians realize US has no leverage against Pakistan. We cannot stop others from giving out statements, question is do these statements have any actual value?
Will India grow a pair now that US has given its green light? I think not.
