i'm guessing the SS-MKI's weapon bays will be under the wing roots and in the center-line fuselage,
but will not take up space in the "arch" as it will reduce lift.

they could be placed inside the fuselage without taking up much space

Not much effect... only frontal RCS reduces significantly.... more of an eye candy rather than a real advantage against enemy with ESA radars and Airborne surveillance Stations.

I guess we could see the first prototype by 2013 itself. First first by 2014 or so and induction starting
2015, it wont take much time because they're only modifying the baseline version, they're not
building a new plane
