ISLAMABAD: At least 13 people, including five policemen, were killed and 39 others wounded following a powerful suicide car bomb attack at a police station in Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa early Monday morning, said hospital sources.

According to the hospital sources, there were also 39 people injured in the blast. Some of them were said to be in serious condition.

According to reports, an explosive- laden vehicle rammed into the rear wall of a police station in the afore-said city, which reportedly was housing an estimated 40 to 50 policemen at the time.

The attacker chose the rear wall of the police station as the target due to the fact that the front and side walls were heavily guarded, police sources said, adding that they have cordoned off the blast area and a search operation has been launched in the nearby area.

Most of the injured people have been rushed to nearby hospitals and some of the injured who were buried inside the damaged buildings are being pulled out of the debris, said rescue workers. SAMAA

9 policemen, 8 civilians killed in Pakistan suicide blast

Islamabad, Pakistan -- At least 17 people were killed and 40 wounded in northwest Pakistan Monday -- the latest in a series of suspected suicide attacks in less than a week in the country.
The explosion took place in Lakki Marwat district in the North West Frontier Province.
Jameel Khan, a senior police official in the district, told CNN a suicide bomber in an explosive-laden vehicle hit a police building.
On Friday, at least 73 people were killed and 206 people wounded in a suicide attack in southwestern Pakistan. The blast in the city of Quetta occurred during an Al Quds day rally, an annual event in the Arab and Muslim world that criticizes Israeli policies toward Palestinians.
Also on Friday, in an apparently unrelated incident in northwestern Pakistan, a suicide bomber blew himself up outside an Ahmadi worship place Friday, killing himself and a pedestrian, police said.

Asking a basic question that may have been lost in all the tragic incidents. What are these terrorists demanding? Or is it pure maheym without any demands?

Its gut wrenching to see civilians getting killed all over without any remorse..

Fourteen policemen have been killed and dozens wounded in a suicide bomb attack on a police station in northwestern Pakistan.

Police say the bomber drove his car into the police station in the town of Lakki Marwat. It is the third such attack in the country within a week.

Nearly 100 people were killed in suicide bombings on processions of minority Shi'ite Muslims in the eastern city of Lahore and southwestern city of Quetta last week.

Those attacks were claimed by the Pakistani Taliban.
