What's new

Su-57 was necessary when the Russians had Su-35s ?

The su 57 is NOT cancelled. And we know that you know this. So just stop being a dishonest dbag so that we don't have to walk through this every time.

when you order 12 Su-57s it is a dud. Your only export customer cancelled the order after sinking billions of dollars

the current Chinese and American latest optical sensors can detect F-22 type objects 150KM away```but, in order to fire a weapon to a detected stealth fighter, radar is still needed, as until to this day, the most advaced optical sensor still can not guide a weapon to fly long distance and then to hit an agile flying target`````

so this optical image of F-22 on Su-35 sreen does not say much about the true story of air combat````in real combat Su-35 can stand a chance when facing a 5th gen information centric sensor fusion stealth fighter

There are reasons for that.

First, the 12 ordered are only LRIP. In the F-35 program, LRIP-1 had only 2 orders and LRIP-2 had 12 orders. And unlike the Americans, the Russians planned ahead and have an obsolescent management program installed in case there were delays. So a new PAK FA is coming up with new electronics and engine.

Second, India did not sink in billions. We paid for the PDC only, which was worth $285M.

Third, PAK FA/FGFA for India is still active. The decision has only been postponed to the next administration since India will enter elections in the next few months. There will be a number of major elections in sequence followed by the General Elections by May. The decision to go for direct procurement, license production or joint development will be taken up after that.
