stupid F-16 crash

.
A sad and yes stupid accident that was preventable.

Oshkosh is a HUGE airshow. They guy was embarrassed that he screwed up the landing with everyone watching, and tried to force it. Now, there's a good chance he'll never fly again.

F-16's in NORMAL operations do not use a drag chute. The F-15 definitely does not have one. They may have fitted them for testing purposes, and no doubt someone will find one, but in all my years, the drag chute wasn't there.

drag chutes are just one more item the ground crew must deal with on a quick turn-around, and if a jet can be designed without one, it's better.

he didnt even eject...
unlike the russian airshow crashes which we regularly see...their pilots eject straight away if something goes wrong.

RNoAF was the first to use it, because of icy runways they do it to shorten the landing run by Drag chute.
Later, RNLAF installed the same on their Vipers.
ROCAF and Thailand,Indonesia,Chile fly ex-RNLAF A/B Vipers with it aswell.
Greece, Turkey and Chile also has Drag chutes for their C/D's, also Polish AF. I think all the new Pakistani Vipers have it aswell,

Belgium also installed the housing, but use if for ECM equipment - so also for the Israelis, although not on their A/B models, only the C/D's. Belgium never installed it on their B-models though. Those sold to Jordan still contain ECM equipment as they did while serving the BAF.

he was busy in something never open parachute and air breaks for stop the baby till runway finished and he bit the dust .

Here we can see that F-16 was skidded from the runway… It was just matter of fraction of second…Nothing can be done in that case.

If you Google for this crash on the given date, it comes up that the pilot's environment control in the cockpit had a serious failure which caused the canopy to completely fog over. The pilot followed the correct procedures to defog, with no luck. The decision was made to attempt a landing on instruments only, and the pilot did a fairly good job given the circumstances, saving his own life and preventing the complete loss of the aircraft. (5 million in aircraft damages is way better than losing the whole machine =)

Canopy does not look foggy to me. It looks like a propaganda story to cover the stupidity of the pilot. The failing empire wants to convince everyone of it's superiority and that it does not make stupid mistakes.
